Really? But no outrage for the death of the innocents?

The one issue doesn’t negate the other.

The so called “Humane Society” is anything but. Don’t call them, don’t support them. Support your local CAPS and other organizations that have a no kill policy. They find homes or foster care for animals or, if they are unable to do so, keep them in a genuinely humane environment. They don’t euthanize them.

Thirty minutes ago I left the local Humane Society where I live with a dying stray I found in my drive this morning. I found the cat barely breathing in a pile of it's own feces suffering from mange and covered in fleas. The Humane Society said they don't provide euthanasia and I needed to go to animal control over 20 miles away. The cat died while I was talking to the guy at the Humane Society so I asked if they would dispose of it and they again said ‘No’. So the cat suffered, died in convulsions and I put him in a trash bag and threw him in a dumpster, but I tried. Next time I should tell them he's mine and needs care so they'll put him down.

Although they claim to be not for profit I have serious doubts. Maybe I’m just stuck in the past but $400 to treat cuts from a fence seems steep to me!

You might wanna revisit that first sentence of yours again.

The outrage is for the man’s needless loss of his cat.

I’ve little trust in those who defend human life, but have no consideration for the abuse of animals or people’s emotional attachment to animals. There’s nothing Godly in that callousness.

They’re just “softening” us up for the time we take Grandma into the hospital under Obamacare...and can’t afford to get her out...

I did revisit that sentence and removed my city’s name for privacy.

Indeed. Do a Google search on "humane society fraud" of "humane society scam" for stories. Here is one link below that provides more info:

Donations to Humane Society not what they seem

... The reality is, the Humane Society is an extreme animal rights group, much like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which calls for the end of all hunting, fishing, farming, pet ownership and the existence of domesticated animals.

Wayne Pacelle, president of the society, said, "One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals." J.P. Goodwin, a Humane Society spokesman and former member of the known terrorist group Animal Liberation Front said, "My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture."

Not only that, but the society doesn't actually run or contribute to any actual humane societies. ... Of the more than $206 million in assets the Humane Society reported to the federal government last year, only $450,000 went to organizations that actually work with animals. The rest was spent on lobbying, salaries, fundraisers and producing those heart-wrenching commercials that prompt hard-working Americans to open their wallets.

In the last presidential election, the head of the humane society endorsed a candidate for the first time. That person was Barack Obama. I will never give those people a dime again.
