To conservatives, the biggest strike against Mitt Romney is the health care plan he put in place in Massachusetts, but Newt Gingrich lavished praise on Romneys plan after it was passed in 2006.
We agree entirely with Governor Romney and Massachusetts legislators that our goal should be 100 percent insurance coverage for all Americans, Gingrich wrote in 2006.
And, Gingrich wrote, the key to achieving that goal was doing what Romney did in Massachusetts: Requiring everybody...

If the Media would ‘vet’ the Liberals, Democrats, Libertarians [who I have found are far more Liberal than ‘tarian’], Community Organizers, Union Leaders, etc., as they do any Republican Candidate they remotely fear, ... we’d be living in a much better state of affairs ... all ‘57’ States of affairs.
Didn’t Romney, or some of his aids, have a big hand in 0bamacare?
Hypothetically you could use this moment in time not to criticize Speaker Gingrich, but rather share with readers who you support, and why.
Hypothetically of course.
LOL indeed! Keep sticking your foot in your mouth, while us “Newtbots” watch...........
Perhaps you should consider his record while serving in congress.
You're right....healthcare was perfect in 2006 so no reason to even think about it.
The politically expedient thing is to do no thinking and leave no paper trail...like Obama.
The “My single-digit perfect conservative candidate” posters dont care at this point about anything other than trying to pull off some magical win by the person they have been backing.
They think the people backing Newt are some unprincipled idiots that should have been behind a bunch of bumblers that have shown no ability to actually go after either.
Mitt Romney or Obama
All the while the backers of bumblers club have been going after each other because they think their holy candidate is the “true” conservative!
Again while not spending one ounce of their perfect conservatism going after Romney. Go figure!
Then they have the nerve to drone on about “the fix is in”.
Fixed by whom? Romney cant break 22%.
And you are a drooling Newtbot. Doesn’t matter though, your guy ain’t going anywhere.
ive gotta remember that one...heheheh...
LOL. The idea that if you don’t support Newt, you must be supporting Romney is pure crap. This isn’t a two person race—at least not yet. Newt is a very flawed candidate and not a conservative. If he were to get the nomination, there would be plenty of buyer’s remorse on this site once the Dem’s train their guns on him. The subject of this thread is just the latest revealation of many to come.
STOP IT! You’re confusing them with facts again!
They are too busy cutting their noses off to spite their faces, so let them cut without a second thought.
Gladly.
Please allow me to use a grading system to give my opinions of the candidates.
Santorum A
Perry B
Bachmann B
Romney C
Gingrich C
Huntsman D
Paul D-
Obama F-
Yet here many are, completely immersed in the media narrative, which is a fantasy.
How long will it be before they finally 'get it'.
So post some pro-Santorum stuff.
I’d totally support Santorum. Absolutely.
So how about flooding FR with pro-Santorum articles? If you could arrange some sort of ad deal with Google interactive, you could make gobs of money just from me reading every single one. :D
until people deal with their fear of the boogeyman and realize that we've been played for 20 plus yrs, we dont have much hope for resisting the onslaught of fedzilla...
yeah, yeah, yeah...next comes the "perfect is the enemy" line...before you waste the bandwith, I'll go ahead and say 'get over yerself' and lose the condescension...
your energy would be better served preparing for the tyranny that is indeed already upon us...
Newt did some very good things while serving in congress. He helped to create a conservative coalition and helped to a certain degree to win a majority in congress. He supported good programs such as tax reductions and welfare reform. He helped to balance the budget.
I am impressed by this record. But Newt also allowed himself to be consistently outmaneuvered and outsmarted by Clinton and the MSM. His vanity was his weak point and he soon lost the speakership and Clinton was elected to a second term.
I admire Newt's intelligence but I consider him someone who will pretend to be for anything that is expedient and will help to further his career. I don't think he cares about the American people or conservative principles.
Mitt/Newt 2012? Groan.
When the Pennsylvania primary rolls around in May, I will vote for Newt if Mitt is leading. I will vote for Mitt if Newt is leading. Or (hopefully), I will vote for anybody else if they are still in the race. Excepting (possibly) that crazy moonbat Ron Paul.
A brokered convention becomes a possibility if:
You’re impressed by Newt’s congressional record but don’t feel he cares about the American people or conservative principles?
