Mitt Romney broke through the tea party barrier Monday, winning that segment's vote in a New Hampshire poll.
Romney beat Ron Paul among tea partiers, 29 percent to 21 percent, the Public Policy Polling survey reported. It was the first time Romney has carried a plurality of tea party voters, with whom the former Massachusetts governor has had chilly relations.
And in a possible leading indicator heading to Florida, Romney garnered 50 percent of the senior vote in the New Hampshire poll conducted by the Democratic-leaning PPP.
Overall, Romney was the choice of 35 percent of PPP respondents. Paul garnered 19 percent; Newt Gingrich, 13 percent; Jon Huntsman, 5 percent; Michele Bachmann, 3 percent; Rick Santorum, 2 percent; and Rick Perry and Gary Johnson, 1 percent.

Better hope youre wrong, the TEA party is about all thats left of conservatism.
I wish I was but I've seen it myself. Our biggest county wide tea party group was taking part in occupy protests this fall. Even our little informal group was approached and offered "organizational help" along with the suggestion that the GOP should get rid of extremists like Bachmann, Santorum, and paul. (I could do without Paul myself but I'm not going to use dishonest means to get rid of him)
I predicted from the beginning that organization would be the death of tea parties. If they're tracking down nameless little groups like mine, considerable effort is being expended to get the job done.
As far as I'm concerned, we can scream about the "establishment" all day long but it doesn't matter much if they're the ones pulling the strings.

Any group that calls itself The Tea Party, ain't.
The Tea Party is not a party.
It is a movement.

You have to do what you have to do I guess.
I myself don’t plan to face my maker with the excuse that I voted for the lesser evil.

I’m in NH. You won’t catch me voting for Romney. But, I have to say that his signs are everywhere in southern NH. I did see some Gingrich signs and Santorum ones in Nashua a few days ago for the first time.

The number of sincere Tea Partiers who support Romney is zero - they are incompatible beliefs. As for this poll, it's just what my flowers need:

from day 1 this primary is the “best worst choice”.
Do not let the presidency be a distraction. Look at the senate races and how we have to “primary” the rinos.
A veto proof CONSERVATIVE house and senate neutralizes any “best worst choice” president.
Think federal marriage amendment.
Think repeal obamacare
Think cut government
Think fire unelected officials
Think reinstate DO ask and DO expel.
Think gutting the EPA nonsense
Think lower taxes
we have to fight for a CONSERVATIVE congress guided by logic and reason, not the religion of communism and stinky hippies.

I have stood solidly with Mitt Romney since the 2008 election. You can't be a tea party conservative and a Romney supporter. That would be a contradiction in terms. It's like saying you're a Christian who worships Allah. It doesn't make any sense.
