Gov. Rick Perry is double-dipping, drawing retirement income from the state in addition to his salary as governor since late January, newly released records show.

Perry's move to begin drawing from his pension early this year while remaining governor, which his staff says is legal and consistent with state retirement rules, was unknown to the public until federal financial disclosures were made public on Friday. ... Combined, his net pay from the state is now more than $225,000 annually.

I don’t blame SEIU employees. I blame the lawmakers who sat down with them in collective bargaining and gave away the store....

If he is entitled to it then let him do as he pleases...we all have to budget and maybe he needed the extra funds...

I see nothing wrong with this...

there are a helluva lot more things to be concerned about and not with Perry...I like the guy...still have not decided who will get my one vote...

Good question, what do you think they’ll say?

When they see the Perrys’ charitable giving they will be shutting up in short order.

So you expect people, who work in government, to work for free?

I think state governors, congress, senators, the president etc should earn at or near minimum wage for the privilege of serving the people.

If needed, grant them some housing money for a small apartment and food stipends if needed. At the end of their two terms, give them 5k to be invested how they see fit.

Two terms and throw them out. Keep them from corrupting or being corrupted by the system, which at this point is corrupt to the core and causing epic damage to our country.

Think so? Romney's quite known for his charitable giving too and look where it got him...........Actually, all the GOP candidates are known for their charities.

Much to do about nothing.
Many millions from coast to coast do the same.
If it is legal (and it is) it’s not an issue.

Remember the old adage:

“If you throw enough poop against the wall some is bound to stick.”

There are legitimate issues over Perry’s candidacy but this is not one of them.

I doubt you’d do your job for a fairly minimal wage, for the privilege of providing people a good or service.

I can appreciate limited terms, but to put them in prison and basically feed them bananas, through a slotted door, I can’t see anybody with any brains wanting the job.

But Perry actually earned the money they're giving, Romney inherited it all.

No. I just don’t think that politicians need to take vows of poverty, while doing their jobs.

You’d be farther ahead by forcing politicians to sell off their stocks and whatever, to prevent them from profiting while in office.

Rick Perry is a parasite who is worse than those who live off welfare.

So I guess everyone who served in the Military, firemen, police officers, school teachers, postal workers, they are are parasites? Part of what made Perry eligible was his military service. He paid into it, he earned it but you think collecting that makes him a parasite. Tell me, how are things in your tent at the OWS protest anyway? You Commie.

Frankly, I think Rick Perry needs MORE money so he has a good base to win the GOP nomination -— and we intend to send him some more.

The cops and fire fighters, are WAY over paid, not to mention their lottery stype government retirement pensions. Teachers, postal workers, the tens of hundreds of thousands of government employees are literally choking us off and helping drive this country into a broke, bankrupt country.

This comes as a surprise to you?

In the 2008 tax year, he [Perry] gave $34,988 to charity from that pay raise [state pay raise from 115,000 to $150.000]- $9,996 each to March of Dimes; Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (where his wife is a $65,000-a-year consultant), and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation; and $5,000 to the Mansion Restoration project.

In recent years, he has given considerably less.

When your running for president nothing is hidden...

Unless you are a liberal, socialist, marxist, communist cretan from Kenya, and a usurper, in which case everything is hidden, burried and covered by the elite MSM, who are of the same political persuasion.
