Time to Send for Santorum: Could the Candidate Left in the Field be Chosen?
Catholic Online ^ | 12/15/2011 | Keith A Fournier

Rick Santorum reminds me of the biblical story of David and Goliath. David was the youngest of the sons of Jesse. He was finally chosen to lead Israel and the story is recorded in the Old Testament. (1 Samuel 16):

"In the same way Jesse presented seven sons before Samuel, but Samuel said to Jesse, "The LORD has not chosen any one of these." Then Samuel asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?" Jesse replied, "There is still the youngest, but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said to Jesse, "Send for him; we will not sit down to eat until he arrives here."

"Jesse had the young man brought to them. He was ruddy, a youth with beautiful eyes, and good looking. The LORD said: There-anoint him, for this is the one! Then Samuel, with the horn of oil in hand, anointed him in the midst of his brothers, and from that day on, the spirit of the LORD rushed upon David."

One by one, the candidates in this Republican Presidential primary process have been presented as the ones to be figuratively "anointed" to oppose the President in the 2012 campaign. However, one by one their once soaring poll numbers quickly descended. There is only one who has been left in the field, given little or no chance by the media elites, Rick Santorum. It is time to send for Santorum.

Could the candidate left in the field be the one who is chosen?

Rick Santorum is a man with a chest. He is a man of courage, substance, conviction, and competence. No matter how hard the media attempted to shut out coverage of his campaign, they did not succeed. No matter how often the Republican establishment tried to dismiss his chances, he continued on. No matter how often the political left ridiculed his character and his chances, he stayed steady. It is time to send for Santorum.

lol

there will be no more flavors.

Either we stay with Gingrich or we get stuck with Romney, it’s that simple.

Exactly.

These guys are just too happy to use the Rommybot/MSM attack machine just to promote their nowhere candidate.

When can we expect the manufactured “Santorum Surge” article?

When did Newt’s poll numbers quickly descend? I must have blinked my eyes or something.

On the other hand, both parties are so out of favor with the electorate that a third party win is a real possibility.

Rick Santorum, completely 200% unelectable. In short, not a bad guy but not a “F”ing chance in Hell that he can he get elected!

When are you people going to realize that Santorum is NOT running for president?

He could be some day but only if something happens to Newt or Mitt.

Generally I like Santorum. The biggest problem I have with him is that in the debates, he looks and sounds like he is uncomfortably constipated.

Gingrich could very well self destruct while there's little reason to believe that Romney can exceed his 25% ceiling, no matter how hard a segment of the media campaigns for him.

I have no crystal ball (boy I wish I did), but if you look at the history of this election cycle with all the different front runners, it's still possible with the Iowa electorate beginning to focus, that we could still see a surge from yet another candidate.

As a Conservative, I don't really have any issues with Santorum and would feel very positive in supporting him, especially compared with the current choices.

Santorum has been my guy since day one. Most ppl I know have responded with ...”who?”

Would be great if he got some actual traction.

Rick Santorum said the same thing a week or so ago, that Newt’s the latest to come from back in the field to become leader, and that it would be his turn next. All he has to do is win one primary, specifically, Iowa. He’ll probably do no better than sixth. Thanks tcg.

GINGRICH SUPPORTERS: You can't support Santorum, he endorsed Arlen Specter.

SANTORUM SUPPORTERS: Ummm... your guy endorsed Dede Scozzafava, who's even more liberal than Specter.

GINGRICH SUPPORTERS: So what? Do as we say and not as we do.

>> Sorry Ricky Santorum has a problem with the 10th Amendment.. <<

What problem would that be? That he understands the actual text of the 10th amendment AS WRITTEN and not the "STATES' RIGHTS!" version that the "send everything on the planet back to the states" crowd makes up?

Good point.

I’m going to send Santorum a little money. I wish it could be more.
