Herman Cain is no longer running for president. He doesn't think he's likely to be picked as the eventual nominee's running mate, either. But he does have a Cabinet post in mind should the GOP win the White House next fall: secretary of Defense.
[....]
Cain shared the idea with ABC's Barbara Walters during her annual special on the "10 Most Fascinating People." And the veteran journalist was just a bit surprised.
Cain said he thought he'd be a good pick because he wants to "influence rebuilding our military the way it should be."
Walters, still stunned, reminded Cain of his struggles during the campaign with topics like Libya. And there is always Uzbeki-beki-beki-stan-stan.
"I have been doing my homework ever since that difficulty," Cain said.

Sorry Herman. You admitted to having a “dick” problem when you quit, so you you are out now. No soup for you.
That’s what bothered me about him most of all...before any rumors. He was always looking for a job.
I don’t know if I’d want him there. Maybe in some other position but defense is about the last place I’d want him.
Can’t be any worse than “Here’s your ham” Panetta.
Cain didn’t know if Pakistan was friend or foe? SEC of DEF...oh NO! Chairman of the Fed Reserve? maybe
And I’d like to be a supermodel.
Neither is likely to happen.
I could Secretary of Labor, but I think he was better served when he said he would get good people to handle that international stuff.
Commerce, maybe. He could downsize it to 1/3 or less of its current size (budget).
Actually, it apppears to me that about 90% of the people in Washington don’t know if Pakistan is friend or foe. And make that 95% of the State Department.
What did he admit to, exactly?
I supported Herman Cain until he quit amid what I considered false accusations but I don’t see Cain receiving a Cabinet nomination from a Republican president. Ambassador, maybe or more likely part of a high-level advisory committee on a big issue. Perhaps nothing at all, depending on who is elected. Most presidents don’t want an extroverted former rival too close and right now, Cain appears to be fishing for a job in the next Republican administration, which usually means you won’t get it. Still, Cain does have a wealth of business experience so a Republican president might appoint him Commerce Secretary. That is not a visible position so Herman Cain might well decline to accept the appointment and simply return to his radio show and other ventures - or just retire, completely.
Please, people in hell would like ice water too
Nope. I was one of the biggest supporters of Cain and defended him a lot here, but he QUIT and deserted his supporters when he could have easily stayed in the race and led the field. He quit because he could not face an assault by the media. Imagine if there is a war and the media attacks him. This weakling will QUIT. No quitters.
Can I be the Wizard of Oz?
As Secertary of Defence, Herman Cain would prevent China from attaining nuclear weapons.
Everything when he quit.
Is he ... naming a price?
What freeper would give a rats arse what Barbara Walters things...she was stunned...what about the abomination called the VIEW...
Here is what Walter’s thinks of herself

I wanted Herman Cain for president, but I want Duncan L. Hunter for SOD. Herman Cain would be very valuable as financial adviser, however. I can’t seem to land on anyone else for president so far.
