Appearing on Fox News this morning, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz insisted that unemployment didnt go up in Barack Obamas term of office, a hilarious argument on several levels. Debbie Downer then lectures Gretchen Carlson that your narrative doesnt work any longer, to which a bemused Carlson responds that shes just relating the facts:

“Tell a lie often enough and the people will start to believe it.”
Unbfortunately there are just too many unemployed and under-employed to believe this silliness; I’m glad the libs think it will work, though.
not with your d*** ever!
Thank You

Thanks, I kept wondering why she looked so familiar, it has been years since I had an aquarium.
Unemployment was in the low 5 percent range throughout most of President Bush’s two terms. It didn’t really spike until the end of his second term when Wall Street and housing collapsed. And then, it went to 7 percent. The 9.5 was totally on obamas watch and the republicans need to do a better job of pointing this out. Everyone was working during the Bush years. There were so many jobs to fill that I recall stories about companies hiring retirees.

Thanks for the morning laugh... perfect analogy!
All this was inspired by the principle—which is quite true within itself—that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.
Oh wait, Bagdad Bob was funny, DwS is dangerous.
... and now ,,,
"We project that unemployment will not go over 8.5% if we pass this $767 Billion Stimulus in 2009."
At what point will the DNC be renamed the "Democrat National Prevaricator Committee"?
and the republicans need to do a better job of pointing this out.
When are they going to point out that gas was around 1.80 or so when BO ‘assumed the throne’?
(I know, ‘beating a dead horse etc) If an R would have basically doubled the gas then did all in his power to effectively halt drilling (for OUR benefit) in this hemisphere, he would have already been ‘impeached’ (or what passes for it) - this includes the (non) pipe line from Canada.
Government employment didn’t go up. Plus, you have the number of people and corporations on welfare at an all time high. Just think of them of government employees, too.
So what she said is true from a Leftist perspective!
Debbie Does step out of the bounds of reality anytime she’s in front of a camera so it doesn’t surprise me at all to hear that Democrat make such an outlandish assertion.
bkmrk
No. It just hit me...She looks like Gene Wilder in either Willie Wonka or Young Frankenstein. It’s really uncanny!
The problem is that total private employment has dropped 5.9 million since Obama took office. In the meantime, the population has increased by millions.
