The Log Cabin Republicans, a gay Republican group, on Wednesday criticized a new ad from Rick Perry in which the Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate suggests "there's something wrong" when gays can serve openly in the military but kids "can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school."
"Our nation was built upon individual liberty and individual responsibility, and open service by gay and lesbian servicemembers is directly in line with the vision of our Founding Fathers," said R. Clarke Cooper, Executive Director of the Log Cabin Republicans. "It is wrong for Governor Perry to assume being a person of faith does not afford one to support equality."
Perry's new ad, seemingly designed to appeal to far-right conservatives, includes a call by the candidate to end "Obama's war on religion."

Our Founders were quite emphatic about progeny. Of course IVF, rental wombs and adoption for homosexuals could not have been contemplated.
Could a conservative POTUS overturn the overturn of DADT or is it done and done?
don-o to Log Canin Republicans:
Bite me.
No, uh.
Bugger off.
No.
Go (rhymes with truck and what Cheney said) yourself.
Not that. Words fail.
Good grief. My insult skills have failed me.
So he’s a bad debater and not verbally acute. And there are other negatives as well.
But he is the most solid conservative that still has a chance.
Wait till the Southern primaries. Rick will get his second chance.
“The Log Cabin Republicans, a gay Republican group”
There goes the image in my mind about good old log cabins.

Are Log Cabin Republicans saying that there is NOTHING wrong with this? If so, there's something wrong with them.
One should not allow the Log Cabin Republicans to rip anything or get behind anything. The mental images alone make me want to vomit.
What’s funny about how this is worded is Perry didn’t say there was something wrong with gays serving openly in the military (although we know he thinks it). He said there’s something wrong when gays can serve openly but kids can’t pray openly in school or celebrate Christmas openly in school.
Actually Huckabee gave Perry high marks for the forum, said it was by far his best performance to date in the debates. Coming from Huckabee, who has no fondness whatsoever for Perry, I found that very encouraging.
Also, IIRC, Pam Bondi had effusive praise for Perry’s staunch defense of the 10th Amendment. The Virginia and Olklahoma AG’s saw it much the same way. If you recall, the reason for the forum was to see which of the candidates were constitutional conservatives.
The consensus among Huckabee and the 3 AG’s was that Perry certainly fit that mold. On the matter of EO’s trumping law, the AG’s obviously tried to help Perry walk that back a bit, and he did. He made clear that regulations within Executive Branch agencies were an additional tool he could weild to undo Obamacare.
On balance, I got the impression that Huckabee and the AG’s were favorably inclined towards the Governor’s responses.
I do not have a TV, nor did I hear the commentators remarks about Perry after the debate, but I do remember that Reagan did not do well int he debate with Carter in 1980, but people trusted him anyway because of the things he’d been saying all along. We need to look at the total candidate, not the ability to debate well. Newt can debate well, granted, but he cannot stay conservative (leadership values) because that is not who is he is really. He is a big government Republican who likens himself to Teddy Roosevelt. TR founded the first socialist party in America.
Not all people do well on stage. One who governs well may not be orally gifted, but I would 100 times over prefer someone who was a great leader than one who awes everybody with his speeches but destroys the land I love. After 3 years of the teleprompter and all the hooplah about how smart The One is, wouldn’t it be nice to have an ordinary American, one who loves America, has some sense about governing and a good track record at that?
True.
Unless the GOP candidate is some lefty like Romney or Paul, they're not going to vote that ticket anyway.
Perry may not play to this group's single agenda, but he points out the example of how left this country has moved in a very short period of time.
He sees it, he knows it, and he wants to restore American values. Not only that--he appears to genuinely mean it. If his vision has offended anyone and he doesn't sound like a car salesmen at a debate, oh well.

Excellent - anyone the Log Cabin ("Old Abe was a homo") fake Repbulicans hates, has to have some redeeming qualities! Good comparison - flaming fags can now serve in the military, and people children can't pray or celebrate Christ's birth in public schools.
Whew you sure are full of lies. Did you come to FR from DU?
SOmeone better overturn homosexuals in the military or we are FINISHED as a republic. FINISHED. All they need to do, once a real conservative is President, is write up a new bill, have the R majority House and Congress pass it, and send it up to be signed.
GO RICK!!!
Hang in there...they’ll find something to hang Newt with.
Perry has greatly improved on his debating skills. I still think the first 3 that he did not do well in, was due to just having back surgery. I did not know Huckabee “has no fondness” for Perry. What’s that about?
these liberal clowns need to be called out , they are there calling themselves republicans because they are trying to further their homo agenda.
Good for Perry now where the hell is the rest of the GOP for once.
If they want their queer agenda then they need to call themselves libertarians
Oh my .... /sarcasm-off
