Trump Calls Out NBC Host in Heated Interview: ‘You Gotta Tell the Truth, Chuck!’
The Blaze ^ | 10-05-11 | Christopher Santarelli

Posted on 12/05/2011 10:30:28 AM PST by Lazlo in PA

Whether through sound bites or live audio, “The Donald” has been making the rounds on all the news talk shows this morning in response to GOP presidential candidates Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman electing to skip the debate that Donald Trump will moderate on December 27. It’s been a war of words to say the least.

During his second NBC interview of the morning, Trump got heated with “Daily Rundown” host Chuck Todd, at one point saying, “I didn’t call you, you called me.” That was in response to Todd saying that Trump wanted to come on to the show to respond to a poll, which Trump said was “false.”

But Trump wasn’t done there. He told Todd how he could improve his ratings, made a curious comment about Jon Huntsman’s religion, and took some shots at former President George W. Bush after his top advisor Karl Rove also laughed at the idea of Trump holding any sway in the GOP.

“Karl Rove gave us George Bush and George Bush crashed and burned and because of that we have Obama,” Trump told Todd. “The Republicans need to get rid of Karl Rove and they need fresh blood because Karl Rove is going to lead them into doom.”

You can watch it all below:

Can’t stand that phony Trump, but I must say that when I heard this on Rush today, I was on Trump’s side. If only conservatives would call out the media and the pundits like this....

Got to give to Trump, every now and then he will hang his foot squarely in the MSM's ass.

Go Trump!

And, when Rove DOES respond, I can absolutely guarantee that his answer will begin with the words, “Well, look...” :)

LOL. You got that guys number down. I bet he also has some sort of formula for his white board to argue his case.

I remember that Trump contributed to Reid's campaign, but that is not at all uncommon for a businessman who owns a casino in Nevada.

Do you have a link re: Trump's endorsement of Reid?

They're both part of the same hypocrisy.

I think that all Obama voters had frogs in their pockets, who told them that it was the Republicans who were peeing on them.

He contributed to the campaigns of Weiner, Shumer, Rangel and O.

He is pro-’choice’. He is no conservative.

I'm not defending Trump...just saying that businessmen contribute for business reasons.

BTW, Trump also worked hard for (and endorsed) Bob Turner in the 9th District victory for Weiner's seat. Did you know that?

I did not. But if he gives support to the wrong candidates for buisness reasons, I think its fair to say that buisness
considerations trump political considerations in his world.

Trump is in a very advantageous position. He can speak the truth and challenge practically anyone and has much more to gain than lose.

Few have that position to speak and attack from that Trump has.

IMO, Trump is good for the overall situation.

Jon Huntsman is offended by Trump’s position on China, and how we should deal with the Chinese with regard to trade, manufacturing, and jobs.

I totally agree that the eight years of weakness and incompetence of George W. brought us Obama. EIGHT years of elitist, above-the-fray, big-spending government, culminating in TARP, depressed America to the point that we were willing to place hope in a teleprompter. Bob

You might have placed hope in a President Pitching Wedge, but I sure as hell didn't, and I would be correct in assuming not too many other FReepers did either.

Trump is an opportunist. Pure and simple.  He's gonna go wherever the overriding opinion lives.

Trump portrays himself as a powerful, successful businessman and then makes jokes about candidates religion, pretending that he wasn’t rejected first because Governor Huntsman called him and requested a meeting. Give me a break.

Trump’s “personality doesn’t like to be challenged.”

Finally, Paul says something I agree with, the Donald does whine like a little girl when his ego is bruised.

Going after the media is one thing but responding to criticisms with insult after insult after insult is only making him look like an out of control immature child.

Trump is a businessman and, if you know business, opportunism is the name of the game.

That aside...like a lot of businessmen, Trump calls em like he sees em.

You obviously don't like capitalism.

Whatever you think of Trump, he does make good points here that are easy to understand and also calls out the dishonest media at his own network, NBC. I don't want this dude running for Pres, but I like seeing him go after these people.

Yup, I agree. I don't like Trump at all, but on this I completely agree with him. I wish more people would call out the MSM for stuff like this.

What does Trump’s ego have to do with capitalism?

What does Trump’s ego have to do with capitalism?

What are you...a psycho-analyst.

Go ask Onyx...her hubbs is a psychiatrist. Of course, he might bill you for his time...but that's capitalism. I wonder what Onyx's hubbie's ego has to do with his billing procedure.

[Sorry Onyx...pure opportunism on my part.]

Seriously BSF...Trump ain't nothing but a honey badger...he hunts, he eats...he lives.

Don't you?
