CONCORD Former New Hampshire U.S. Sen. Bob Smith is endorsing Newt Gingrich for President.
Smith said in his endorsement, It is not enough to simply defeat President Obama. We must replace him with an inspirational, experienced, conservative leader, with the guts to challenge and change the establishment. Newt Gingrich is that leader.
The former senator said 2012 is a critical election that will either usher in an American revival or turn the country into a bankrupt, third world power.
He said conservatives need to do more than simply win the election; they need to make sweeping changes in Washington and the country.

LOL!!!!!!!!! well, I did LOVE that statement by Newt:) I am going to get the hat and the tee...of course I wear my Cardinals hat (world series champs) often too and btw...Obama never invited La Russa or the Cards to the WH...what was up with that? just because La Russa and Pujols went to the Glen Beck rally....really...
I’d take a clothespin for my nose to the polls and vote Gingrich. I would not have needed it for Cain — as best as can be told from the overall picture, the complaining women were using Cain, not vice versa.
I appreciate you too Katie, for your contributions, and look forward to many more as the flames of the Cain demise diminishes.
Drinking a glass of VINO now with a toast to NEWT GINGRICH and all his supporters.
Thank you for the info donna. A pro life conservative endorsement for Newt should mean alot in NH. I just know he is going to give Mitt a tough run in the Granite State.
In 2004, he (Smith) endorsed John Kerry before he didn’t endorse him.
He wasn't a good guy. He was paying for the living expenses of an old burned out whore and lawsuit junkie and not telling his wife.
Why do you hate conservatives?
I don't. That is why I am sticking with a real one no matter how abysmal his polling is.
I am enjoying a glass of zinfandel..no kool aid:) hey annieokie, cheers again. Newt is the man and it is still going to be a tough battle ..but I am in for the long haul along with TitansAFC, Presidio, caww and others...let’s roll
Boy, you said a mouthful there. You are absolutely correct in the comparison to Joe McCarthy. Joe was right, and most of us knew it then. (oops, telling our age, oh well)
I truly believe that Cain and Palin will endorse Newt, as I also believe Trump will. Going to get real interesting on FR when that happens.
Please add me to your list...I have been a Newt fan since 1994. Ideas are just ideas but the nerve to stand and fight is a rare talent, and we all see who is ready to tell Obama what for.
Raising Glass: CHEERS to NEWT and all supporters.
oops, glass is empty, BRB.
Bob is kind of a nut bag.
>> The former senator said 2012 is a critical election ...
Indeed. The horsemen should start thinking about circling the wagons...
I’m in -I think. They track me down anyway. MN Johnnie has taken a real liking to my pro-newt posts. If you will add me, I might get a heads up on one that he doesn’t snie at me about.
little johnnie? you got to use heavy duty bug spray, no one talks to him anyway, just ignore.
Gingrich will wipe the floor with himself?
Bob Smith jumped the shark a LONG time ago.
“little johnnie? you got to use heavy duty bug spray, no one talks to him anyway, just ignore.”
It’s become kind of a giggle...like Krazy Kat.
“Wow. This really is when the GOP truly does leave us.”
That’s a GOOD thing, no?
The list is only a few weeks old, so it’s good to see it expanding so much, so fast. Newt is doing a great job, and it is good to see him reveal his plans for a Conservative presidency!
In reality, I think 90% of the folks on the list are like myself, and are adopting the “Buckley Rule.”
It has been a long, long time since we’ve been able to defeat the Establishment pick for President. Only once in almost fifty years have we succeeded, by my count (Reagan). They have had a run of success that has given them the ability to “wag the dog” for a very long time.
Gingrich won’t be the death blow to the Establishment that Sarah Palin would be, or DeMint, or Santorum, et al. But it will be a mortal wound that leaves them bleeding for the whole world to see. Defeating them in a few state primaries in one thing, besting them on a national level is going to rock their universe. Newt doesn’t have every Tea Partier’s support, but he has a lot of it, and it’s going to be hell on Earth for the Establishment Republicans watching a bunch of Tea Partiers planting their flags at the Convention in lieu of their own.
Last time around, the Establishment had three choices. This time around, they fell in almost uniform line around Mitt Romney, and did it before we even knew who was running. They have put all of their power, money, influence, media, and machinery behind Mitt. They changed primaries in the hopes of favoring him, both dates and rules. They did everything to put the fix in like they have successful in doing for decades.
If we can oust their chosen candidate who has THIS MUCH near-unanimous support, and do so soundly - and we just might - they are going to see that NOBODY is safe anymore. We can get them anywhere, as we did in 2010 in Maine, NH, and PA - and now we can beat them in national races.
if we pull this off, the rules will have been changed for good. No more back of the bus for us; welcome to the new reality.
