New Yorkers tend to be drones. They live to work (or not work) and work (or not work) to live. They’re hemmed in on all sides by traffic and population and still think they live in the coolest place ever. They think their drone mentality keps them sane. In fact, being a drone probably qualifies most all New Yorkers for SSDI.
Just visit Time Square some time. Only the tourists are friendly and actually smile from time to time. The locals are either hucksters or grouches.

Your theory is somewhat limited. You rarely see REAL New Yorkers in Times Square unless they’re there to see a show at a nearby theater. Times Square is virtually ALL tourists and hucksters who prey on tourists. REAL New Yorkers tend to be found in the gazillion neighborhoods spread around the city’s five boroughs and, other than their politics, tend to be quite normal people.
Who cares?
New Yorkers will never vote Conservative - and Obama knows it.

These $10,000 donors have forgot which side their bread is buttered. For $10,000 they are getting to see the guy that is dismantling the engine of capitalism that gave them their wealth. They are like lambs being fleeced by the wolf before they are eaten.

If he did 50 more of these fund raisers before the election that would leave him about 900 million short of the billion the campaign somehow seems to just know they will raise. 900 million is a whole lot of money to be raised by “small donations of $50 or less”.
In a nutshell what I'm saying is it's just about impossible for a political candidate to legally raise a billion dollars. For those of you that don't like numbers a billion is ONE THOUSAND MILLION. It generally makes news when a candidate raises a million or more in a week now figure having to do that one thousand times over.
No way folks. I believe he was elected with tons of illegal money that was filtered through the Internet in $50 increments and is attempting to be reelected with more of the same.
