All the more reason to build and deploy the missile shield.
Cold War Redux.
Here we go again...
You mean Obama hasn’t given Dmitri the keys to the missile defense sites yet? Slacker!
Another in the long line of American Leftists lies designed to destabilize, undermine and otherwise weaken the USA.
Ping.
Suddenly that "Reset" button makes sense....
Ping.
I remember it as clear as if it had happened yesterday...
In 1991, I was a young Corporal of Marines, stationed in the Marine Detachment on a US Navy carrier. We had a CIS DD (Gen Vinigrodov(SP)) from the Black Sea Fleet working with our battle group. One evening leaning in over the railing, watching the DD sail 1/4 mile off our port side, I made the comment to a crusty old Marine Gunnery Sgt. standing beside me, “Gunny, I never thought I’d see the day when the Russians worked along side us and were our friends.”
He took a drag off his cigarette, and without even looking at me matter of factly said, “Corporal, make no mistake about it, the Russians are still the Soviets, they aren’t our friends, and they never will be.” I was a little taken aback; it got me thinking, though.
That simple statement changed the way I viewed the world, and the United State’s place in it more than any other thing I’d heard or read, before or since. I am not just talking vi-a-vei the Soviets, either. It’s news articles like this one, and the last 20 years of world history that validate that crusty Gunny everyday.
Would that our leaders, all of them, not just the brain dead liberals, heed more closely the words of that man, our country, and world, would be a much safer and better place.
I hope the russians bail out of the last so called arms control treaty, and forego further negotiations.
I was a little young to understand the Cuban Missle Crisis, but I grew up with the fears of "mutual assured destruction" and "global annihilation" brought on by the Cold War.
Reading that article this morning gave me a sense of deja vu.
Madness
The only thing propping them up militarily is their nuclear weapons. Now that we have effectively achieved SDI, their old guard remnants are very nervous. They know we have the ability to negate their nuclear forces. They also know we have a fellow traveller as CiC.
bump....
Oh boy...are we having fun yet?
It will be by the Grace of God...a cold war.
Oooh, we’re so scared. Russia’s ICBM’s are so antiquated it takes 24 hours to spin them up and probably half of them will blow up in the silos. The UN inspectors are terrified of going into those silos to inspect them. They have some short range stuff that could hit Europe. Their nuclear subs are so bad we track them by the radioactive trail they leave. There is a reason Russia is not at war with anybody. They can’t afford it and they don’t have the weaponry. They are full of crapola and sadly we have a President who is easily bluffed. We should have already put that missile shield up in Poland.
The topal missle is very dangerous and mobile. We need to be vigilant and never underestimate any opponent or potential threat IE china or russia.
