Apologies if this has already been posted
As you sit down with your family on Thanksgiving and consider offering a prayer of gratitude, be aware the turkey at the center of the table may have already been "blessed" in the name of Allah.
Customer service representatives from Butterball, one of America's most popular Turkey brands, confirmed to WND that the company's whole turkeys are without being labeled as such slaughtered according to Islamic "halal" standards.
"Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, 'Bismillah allahu akbar' 'in the name of Allah the greatest,'" explains Pamela Geller, author of "Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance." "Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds. Many Christians, Hindus or Sikhs and Jews find it offensive to eat meat slaughtered according to Islamic ritual."

There is only one GOD, and HE is the ONE TRUE GOD as revealed in the HOLY BIBLE.
My GOD is all-powerful and almighty and nothing else matters.

But then, I'm sure you know better what is or isn't necessary than the Jesus' Apostles at the Council of Jerusalem.
That is not quite correct. It was about the minimum standards to be held by Gentiles "to be saved," and allowed into the company of Jews in Synagogue worship. The Pharisees among them argued that the Gentiles should be circumcised and held to ALL the Laws of Moses. Paul and Barnabas suggested otherwise, citing the great works of G_d in their conversions. There was no argument among any present that the Jewish followers of Yeshua were still bound to the Mosaic Laws.
Neither. You are in need of reading Acts 15 carefully.
THIS is why the Muslims are winning throughout the world. Too many Americans don’t know their scripture, nor do they care to be governed by it.
Well said!
It's pretty simple.
Hah, a case in point......last night on the Factor, Bill O'Bloviator asked his always-chirping, irritating lady lawyers what happened to Lot's wife.
One didn't know and the other said she was turned into a pillar of stone.
Well, Charles Dickens DID say the Law was an ass.

Why has this been posted in the UK section?.
The Puritans?. Thats tenuous to say the least.
Perhaps, they're encouraging the UK to have a Thankgiving... of sorts.. - :)
That may be true, but the same Word of God that told you that, also said this:
if you KNOW it was sacrificed to an idol, you are commanded to NOT eat it
1Cor 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1Cor 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Cor 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
1Cor 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in the world, and that [there is] none other God but one.
1Cor 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
1Cor 8:6 But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.
1Cor 8:7 Howbeit [there is] not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat [it] as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1Cor 8:8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
1Cor 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
1Cor 8:10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
1Cor 8:11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
1Cor 8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
1Cor 8:13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
Excellent point!
Personally, though I’m not Jewish (although subject to slurs sometimes because of my moniker), I ALWAYS order a Kosher bird for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are the very best! Always recommended by the late, lamented “Gourmet” and “Bon Appetit.”
If you have a Williams Sonoma in your area, they sell two very excellent ready-made boxes of croutons for stuffing. I always add them to my stuffing. Much better than the supermarket stuff. A little more money, of course.
Oddly enough, the British food magazines I have subscriptions to (Good Food and Delicious), as well as Nigella Lawson, have been pushing Thanksgiving food and traditions for several years now. There’s something about American culture that just fascinates other cultures...
Am Australian, btw.. but I adore the Thanksgiving tradition, which we don’t have in Australia, since it is unique to American *history*. — Besides, it is *almost* summer now here (reverse seasons as you know, southern hemisphere). So, Thanksgiving, unlike what I’ve experienced in the US, isn’t a prelude to Christmas here.
But, my husband is an American, and we always observe Thanksgiving here with certain (American or part American families).
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving back at you!! If you have the time, I’d love to know your menu for the day.
LOOK FOR THE HALAL LABEL!!
