The LDS Church is politically neutral, as is MDL. Mormons hold elected office and positions of responsibility in both US political parties and various parties worldwide. When we respond to any issue regarding politics, we do so only to correct misinformation and misperceptions about the Church, not in an effort to promote a particular candidate or party.
Recently, Politico reported that part of President Obamas 2012 reelection campaign strategy will be to portray Mitt Romney, a Mormon and possible Republican presidential nominee, as weird. The Politico report did not specifically tie the weird charge to Romneys Mormon faith, but many commentators have speculated that is the logical application of such a strategy.
Commentators from various political perspectives have also condemned any such strategy. Blogger Jane Hamsher wrote: To preach religious tolerance as Obama does, and then engage in this kind of appeal to religious bigotry, is both hypocritical and pernicious, not to mention self-defeating
As the economy gets worse, people better be really careful about stoking tribalist rage against any minority. Researcher and author Glenn Stanton agreed: Yes, you can be pretty sure that it will be his Mormon faith where most of the weirdness innuendos will land. And this from a president who had to finally and reluctantly distance himself from his own faith heritage. Former presidential speechwriter David Frum noted: The attacks will tiptoe up to the line of outright anti-Mormon bigotry. In Time, political reporter Michael Crowley summed it up: Youd like to think that the people who work for a man who has been slurred countless times because of his race would take a higher road.

Yep, green mowed laws. We have a place in the high desert in southern CA and the lds ward lawns are always green and mowed.
All the churches get together to feed the hungry, they feed people in the community center - together in the name of Christ except the lds ward, they do not participate.
Thanks for pointing out that lds don’t participate in this endeavor.
Well; they WERE 'spiritual'...
You hit the nail on the head. Mormonism is all about how it looks to others, not real charity. Most Christian churches I know don’t seek publicity for their charity and some work to avoid it because it isn’t about them, it is about Christ.

Local Christian charity near here feeds folks year round. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the busiest as one would expect.
Local churches ramp up as well. Food banks, more scheduled dinners and eat ins, etc.
I have yet to see the mormons open their bldgs. doors to feed the needy.
I’ve seen a few individual mormons helping out during the local charity feeds, but nothing organized by the church or the members themselves.
Somebody here posted the letter once but I can't locate it now. Any help before they deny this too ?
Also, and army of missionaries is always on hand for recruiting.
Maplewood bldg is where hot sauce mom attends isn't it ?

The Christian belief in The Trinity is not biblical and didnt come into being for over 300 years after the death of Jesus Christ at Nicea.
Sorry, but the bible states otherwise. The WORD trinity is not in it, but the concept, idea and fact that is, is PLAINLY seen. Just as it is in the BoM.
3 Nephi 9:15
"Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name."3 Nephi 11:22-27, 36
"And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you. Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your words and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize them--Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water. And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one...And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one."2 Nephi 31:21
"And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen."
And for the record, the LDS beleive in multiple Gods, like hindus, buddhists and the ancient Greeks and Romans. Emma Smith, Joe's wife claimed he had his most prized possession on his body when he died, A MAGICAL JUPITER TALISMAN for crying out loud, which folks can find these days in WITCHCRAFT supply stores !.
Here is an excerpt from their own scriptures to compare against the creation in Genesis.
Abraham Chapter 4, Verse 1 "And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth."
They don't believe in the trinity, they believe in the trinity*, in the same way as Joe Isuzu has a free* car for you just for stopping by.
They don't believe in the bible, they believe in the bible*.
They don't believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, they believe he was a prophet* (they rejected his Bible retranslation).
They are not Christians, they are Christians*.
The breakaway LDS sect of Mormonism, the religion of the ASTERISK !
I'm sure they mean the KJV.
I'm sure that BY never said this while JS was alive; did he?
When cornered; they claim they worship one GOD.
When asked how can ONE god have TWO physical bodies; it gets REALLY quiet...
