Local Christian charity near here feeds folks year round. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the busiest as one would expect.
Local churches ramp up as well. Food banks, more scheduled dinners and eat ins, etc.
I have yet to see the mormons open their bldgs. doors to feed the needy.
I’ve seen a few individual mormons helping out during the local charity feeds, but nothing organized by the church or the members themselves.

They do the "thanksgiving blessing" food pantry with other denominations here in Anchorage. As I recall, individual members were assigned to do things like buy flannel and make mittens, donate food, pick up and deliver fols in their own cars with their own money, and help setup and distribute the food. The church is always quick to point out they "the church" is charitable, but in reality ALL of the tithing money still goes into SLC's bank account, it is individual members bearing the expense.
Also, and army of missionaries is always on hand for recruiting.
