The LDS Church is politically neutral, as is MDL. Mormons hold elected office and positions of responsibility in both US political parties and various parties worldwide. When we respond to any issue regarding politics, we do so only to correct misinformation and misperceptions about the Church, not in an effort to promote a particular candidate or party.
Recently, Politico reported that part of President Obamas 2012 reelection campaign strategy will be to portray Mitt Romney, a Mormon and possible Republican presidential nominee, as weird. The Politico report did not specifically tie the weird charge to Romneys Mormon faith, but many commentators have speculated that is the logical application of such a strategy.
Commentators from various political perspectives have also condemned any such strategy. Blogger Jane Hamsher wrote: To preach religious tolerance as Obama does, and then engage in this kind of appeal to religious bigotry, is both hypocritical and pernicious, not to mention self-defeating
As the economy gets worse, people better be really careful about stoking tribalist rage against any minority. Researcher and author Glenn Stanton agreed: Yes, you can be pretty sure that it will be his Mormon faith where most of the weirdness innuendos will land. And this from a president who had to finally and reluctantly distance himself from his own faith heritage. Former presidential speechwriter David Frum noted: The attacks will tiptoe up to the line of outright anti-Mormon bigotry. In Time, political reporter Michael Crowley summed it up: Youd like to think that the people who work for a man who has been slurred countless times because of his race would take a higher road.

It is an excellent reason to not vote for a Mormon.
Read the posts posted by Elsie and others about Mormonism and see if you don't conclude that Mormonism is far beyond being "weird". (Unless you are already a Mormon).
Anybody who swallows the particulars of this religion, is not acceptable to lead this country. Don't point out Obama to me as being unacceptable because of his Mohammedanism, I already know that.
If Romney accepts all the nonsense of Mormonism and he does, as far as I'm concerned, that's reason enough. Add his liberalism and hypocrisy to his "weird" beliefs and it makes me wonder what the O.P. of this article supports him and believe me, she does. All because he's a coreligionist. Mormonism above everything.
Yet another fine example against those who fallaciously claim the anti Mormon’s here don’t go after “Mormons” but rather “Mormonism”.
In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet, for our salvation depends on them.
1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say Thus Saith the Lord, to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by mens reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidencythe highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidencythe living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessedreject them and suffer.
I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captainhow close do our lives harmonize with the Lords anointedthe living ProphetPresident of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

So how does that work with other subjects...

Yup!
Don't those fools KNOW that only we MORMONs can post our Scriptures and Writings and Teachings and NOT get called Bigots, Haters and Apostates for doing so?
Acts 24: 5 We have found this man to be a troublemaker
And it's up to what?
290 already?

Their RELIGION is, however, a HERESY that flys in the face of CHRISTIANITY.
And they have SHOWN that quite well!

If the link in the lead post were to a news site it would be News/Activitism, but the site is self identified as a "not-affiliated-with-The-Church-of-Jesus-Christ-of-Latter-day-Saints" site. <rolleyes>
What is that? Something slightly less than a blog I warrant.
Seems like your thread was granted the special dispensation reserved for tramatized victims.

Ezekiel 33:6
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.
You can still PRAY for him!
Sadly; many MORMONs can make this claim!
Disclaimer: NOT IN ANY WAY A SUPPORTER OF MITT ROMNEY, EVER!
Perhaps Saundra doesn’t want to get bombarded with LDS, MormonISM hate spams and myriad and other sundry posts from the LDS bashers over in the religion thread when trying to discuss something relevant to political times without getting inundated with Terabytes of stored up spam....just sayin’....
