Herman Cain thumbs nose at New Hampshire Union Leader
Politico ^ | November 17, 2011 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

POLITICO's Reid Epstein, on the ground in Manchester, N.H., reports:

Herman Cain's campaign stuck a finger in the eye of the most powerful conservative voice in New Hampshire on Thursday, blowing off a scheduled interview with the Union Leader newspaper. Continue Reading

Before Cain's no-show, the campaign had requested the 10 a.m. meeting, scheduled for 60 minutes, be shortened to 20 minutes. Cain also told the Union Leader it would not allow C-SPAN cameras to record the sit-down, as it had the paper's meetings with Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.

The Associated Press reported Cain's meeting with the paper was canceled before Union Leader editorial page editor Drew Cline was aware that the former pizza executive was not coming.

Messing with the Union Leader could have serious consequences for Cain in New Hampshire. The paper's endorsement is the state's biggest prize for Republicans and is seen as a conservative stamp of approval elsewhere in the country.

By the looks of it, neither will there soon be any conservative radio stations, or talk shows. Westwood One has been purchased by Dial Global, and Doug Urbanski is being cancelled to be replaced by Bill Press or one of his crowd. Clear Channel has their finger on the buzz button for Laura and Sean. They also own the FOX News radio show.

See what the left is up to while we shuffle GOP candidates around? The way things are going there probably won’t even be an election!

When they say conservative paper you have to consider that they are in New Hampshire.

Since my vote in the NH primary isn’t going to matter; I was going to write in Palin. Maybe I’ll vote for Cain after all...

‘Dumb move..the UL editorial board interview with each candidate is THE rite of passage during the primary season in NH..they will excoriate Cain..’

This is irrelevant, and nothing will happen to Cain.

I live in NH and read the Union Leader daily online. Means nothing.

Funny, but I never ever thought the Union Leader was a conservative leaning paper. At best, it is a paper for RINOs and so-called moderate demrats.

Another fiction perpetrated on the ignorent.

Herb isn’t going to play by the Establishment’s rules! He’s playing 8-dimensional chess while the others are working with sticks. Take those gotcha questions where you are expected to have a clear and coherent answer and stick them where the sun don’t shine!

They couldn’t get Cain on the sex charges. They are trying to Alinsky him by mocking his “stupidity.”.

And they sound successful. Idiot media people calling a rocket scientist stupid because he doesn’t know political terms. The guy is campaigning 24/7 and doesnt have every fact in his brain. He doesn’t need to. We want wisdom to make the right decisions when presented with the facts!

We don’t need a autistic savant filled with facts!

You people falling for this are begging for nominee rominey.

Showing how the interview is conducted. Rick Perry wasn’t pampered in his NH interview but he wasn’t blindsided either. Herman decided on the no-show. It was a wrong decision. He could have gotten some positive coverage and past the Milwaukee interview noise.

Politico and the rest of the LSM want Willard as the Republican nominee for two basic reasons:

1 - To suppress conservative vote in the general election...the "principled conservatives" will sit on their hands "to send the GOP a message", and

2 - Evicerate Willard over his past in the general election, making "Jug Ears" a shoo-in.
