Today is November 17, the two month anniversary since Occupy Wall Street began. Protestors have declared today to be an International Day of Action, calling for people to "occupy their block," to "shut down Wall Street" starting at 7:00 AM, and to "occupy the subway" starting at 3:00 PM. We have been hearing that protestors, and the NYPD, will be amassing all over the city today, and will be live blogging dispatches from our own Village Voice staff writers Rosie Gray (@_rosiegray) and Nick Pinto (@macfathom), as well as photographer C.S. Muncy (@CSMuncyPhoto), who are on the scene through out lower Manhattan.
5:15 AM: From the anchor desk here in downtown Brooklyn, we hear a helicopter that sounds like it is heading towards Manhattan. Nick sends two pictures: this one appears to be on an NYPD roll call, just north of the Wall Street bull:

You are exactly right. The man is a textbook case of inciting to violence
If there is no law, then there is no law
It won't take but a few of the most radical to do something crazy enough to paralyze the city.
Thanks.
Heard on the Rush Limbaugh Show yesterday that the Dem mayors, and frankly Mayor Bloomberg is a Dem Mayor have been told by higher ups that the American people have simply have gotten FED-UP and said these OWS protests ARE TO END.
Police announced the OWS doesn’t have a parade permit...crowd reversing direction...
Narrator of this live stream says police are blocking saying they did not obtain a parade permit.
Broadway blocked. Marchers going up Cedar? Free for all.
They have pushed the police back...they are breaking through. This is not good.
Do you mean they were to stop OWS?
Avtuially, they are calling it a ‘Day Of Action’...and that siuits mr fine....’OWS: DOA’.... ;o}
Crowd is formless. Police keeping them off the street at Broadway, putting them on sidewalk...
appears to be more media than dirtbags.
"Today's plan involves in multiple marches entering the financial district from different directions. The first is underway."
That is what I have heard, that the Dem mayors were to end the OWS protests because the everyday Americans who just want to live their everyday lives in the areas where these protests they want to be left alone to go about their lives in peace. In other words, Enough of the smelly hippies.
... I would not want to be going to work on Wall Street this morning. Getting read for work in the business now ...
Be strong Wall Street. We’re dealing with MORONS!
Haaaahaaahaaaa......
NYPD consulted with City of London Police in the last few years to develop a kettling technique to stop all forms of marches that are not of the “proper type of poodle marching”...
called kettling, a bunch of grad students in London developed a free software platform that is anonymized P2P mobile that allows live updates through social media to create anti-kettling amrch plans.
NYPD is not prepared for this, and quite frankly, it’s not possible to stop a dozen plus marches coming from 15+ locations in Manhattan/Brooklyn today.
This is the UK version, there is a separate NYC app on anonymized local P2P adhoc netowrking right now.
