STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- The former Penn State assistant football coach at the heart of a massive child sex-abuse scandal said he showered with young boys and hugged them but called the allegedly criminal contact "horseplay."
Jerry Sandusky told NBC News' "Rock Center" on Monday night that he was not a pedophile but, in retrospect, should not have showered with the boys he's charged with sexually assaulting.

Brutal demise
I like it...
Didn't know about the ‘boys’ locker room; didn't care. But now that I'm an adult I believe it was a crack in the door to impose this on Jr high/High Schools students designed to break down the natural modesty that exists in the majority of children. One of the tools of the left at the beginning of this slide into decadence.
Is it really punishment if the guy ‘enjoys’ anal sex??
I’m almost to the point of saying Joe should be banned from NCAA football. He’s STILL not taking any responsibility for his inactions.
And why was Sandusky riding slowing through the parking lot until 3 A.M. on the night the “temporary” janitor caught him. This janitor did not know Sandusky. Later he told his supervisor the “guy” was sitting in his car in the parking lot. The supervisor indentified Sandusky.
Had the supervisor already called someone and told them Sandusky had been seen in the shower performing oral sex on the boy?
Was Sandusky trying to find out who it was that saw him and the boy?
That janitor is now in a nursing home with “dementia”. Was something done to him? My tin folk is melting!
Nice! Horsing around indeed!
I read somewhere about the boy going back to the project. To me this was hinting that the kid was black. I wouldn’t be surprised that race has something to do with the delay. That and Paterno’s 409th win.
This isn’t bad judgment, this is arrogrance, he has gotten away with it so long, he thinks he can lie to everyone.
When I was a child, there were always a few old guys prancing around naked, slapping each other’s back, and trying to engage me in conversation in the pool locker room. Gave me the creeps.
A point about boys’ locker room protocal: It was ONLY the team members who were in the showers. The coaches, including asst coaches, NEVER undressed around the boys, or hung around for the showers. They were in their offices, or they had their own showers, or they went home in their coach garb, but they NEVER undressed or hung around the undressed boys.
NEVER. In my experience.
"Mr Sandusky, you said on NBC news that you showed with boys naked, is that correct?"
"Yes"
"You said on NBC news that you 'horsed around' with those boys in the shower, is that correct?"
"Yes"
No further questions.
I'll love to see the cross examination.
Maybe, but those statements can still be used as evidence.
Now nbc news is interviewing this guy? Something is rotten in Denmark....and nbc news. I don’t believe for a moment that nbc cares about the boys that were raped. They’ve been fostering this kind of behavior with their pro-homosexual agenda for decades. “Boys, it’s OK if Frank rapes you because that’s what homosexuals do, and that’s OK.” Who else is involved? What’s their agenda? It sure isn’t justice for the boys and prevention of this kind of behavior.
In any case though, that is exactly as it should be. Under no circumstance should coaches, asst coaches or ANY adult for that matter, be present in a locker room of young men (or women). The only exception I could find for this is if there is violence being perpetrated on a student by another.
But this pervert is trying to convince Americans that it is completely natural that this exposure happens. It's such BS. But that is exactly what the goal is. imho.
Absolutely appalling.
We used to hang sexual predators...and I bet those then thought that was being too nice. I can point a pistol at a cop and get 5 years but rape his daughter and only get 18 months.
Or old men at your local YMCA.
For the non-attorneys here, we have Miranda warnings. Anyone that watches the show Cops knows them. "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." Not "for you." "Against you."
Reporters, like Police are expert interviewers. You're not going to successfully BS them 99% of the time. You will likely say something dumb. Sandusky is a public speaker. He knows press conferences. He's good, but this isn't a coaching field. This is criminal law and procedure mixed with evidence, and he's out of his league.
Ever notice most attorneys accused of criminal activities keep their mouth shut. Even we don't win battles in interview rooms. Most of us are smart enough to know it.
In adult men's locker rooms (YMCA, military, fitness clubs etc) there are normally lockers and a long bench between. You do NOT get any closer to another, you pick a locker far from his, turn away, and change as privately as possible. You do NOT prance around, wave it around, or engage in any type of “horse play” which I can only surmise is the homo cover term for getting busted being a homo.
I tell clients don't talk to LE without a lawyer present. And, if you are called to a Grand Jury, make darn sure you know every statement is accurate and if you can't do that take the Fifth.
But holding a press interview while charges are pending is just insane.
