Gingrich Leads in PPP Poll, Followed by Cain
The Corner ^ | 11/14/2011 | Katrina Trinko

Posted on 11/14/2011 10:00:39 AM PST by TBBT

Results from new poll of GOP primary voters from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling: Newt Gingrich (28 percent), Herman Cain (25 percent), Mitt Romney (18 percent), Rick Perry (6 percent), Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul (5 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Santorum and Gary Johnson (1 percent).

One particularly interesting note from PPP: “There’s reason to think that if Cain continues to fade, Gingrich will continue to gain. Among Cain’s supporters 73 percent have a favorable opinion of Gingrich to only 21 percent with a negative one.”

Old and busted: the MSM’s Anybody-But-Palin campaign.

New hotness: the MSM’s Anybody-But-Cain campaign.

PPP wants Anybody But Cain.

If we elect anybody but Cain we are fools.

Why would we respect a poll by a far left think tank?

There is something completely loony about two polls taken almost the same dates and having such drastically different results!!
I believe that CNN is far off, or lying, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt (they must have NOT had a random 'national' sample) and I will just use their data as-is.

Poll Date Sample Romney Cain Gingrich
CNN/Opinion Research 11/11 - 11/13 480 A 24 14 22
PPP (D) 11/10 - 11/13 576 RV 18 25 28

With CNN, PPP, and Battleground polls included

Much like what the government does with unemployment statistics, the following chart represents a 4-poll "rolling average" for the latest 20+ polls listed at RealClearPolitics.com (plus recent weekly national polls from YouGov).

I also weighted the polls by their size. For example, a poll with a survey size of 1000 was weighted proportionately heavier than an 324 survey size.

Weighted 4-Poll Rolling Averages of the latest 20+ Polls listed at RCP [as of Nov 14th p.m.]
plus "YouGov" 11/8, 11/1, 10/25, 10/18 and 10/11 polls,
and Poll Position 11/8, and 11/1 polls inserted chronologically

(Example methodology for this chart is on my profile page)

This means, that the 4-Poll Weighted Average for the latest 4 polls ( CNN +PPP + Mclatchy +CBS) calculates the first, 2nd, and 3rd place front-runners as follows:
(1st)  21.1% = Gingrich
(2nd) 20.4% = Cain
(3rd)  19.8% = Romney
.

Here’s where Newt stands on Freddie and Fannie....and opening the way for jobs...

“Remove obstacles to job creation imposed by destructive and ineffective regulations, programs and bureaucracies. Steps include”:

- Repealing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act,... which did nothing to prevent the financial crisis and is holding companies back from making new investments in the U.S.

- Repealing the Community Reinvestment Act,... the abuse of which helped cause the financial crisis.

- Repealing the Dodd-Frank Law... which is killing small independent banks, crippling loans to small businesses and crippling home sales.

- Breaking up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,.... moving their smaller successors off government guarantees and into the free market.

- Replacing the Environmental Protection Agency with an Environmental Solutions Agency that works collaboratively with local government and industry to achieve better results.

- Modernizing the Food and Drug Administration to get lifesaving medicines and technologies to patients faster.

Wow. It took her long enough. How interesting that suddenly his daughter brought this story up in May 2011 when Newt was about to run for President. Had it been 2005 or even earlier it would be believable.

It is nice to see Romney in third BEHIND two conservatives.

I agree...and I think they both are in each others court for the good of the country...neither will go to Washington without the other IMO.

But I do not underestimate the snake in the grass Romney...he's holding out to the end and then he'll pick it up..He's holding at about 20%....and never says anything at the debates to offset his crusing thru....that will change down the line and we'll really see the media ramping it up for Romney then. Golly I will be beyond disappointed if Romeny even comes close...we're done if he gets in.

There is something completely loony about two polls taken almost the same dates and having such drastically different results!!

But its clear the trend is Gingrich is up. Cain's lack of understanding the issues and the harassment allegations are bringing him down.

I'm encouraged because it looks like Perry is bouncing back from his "oops" and is more relaxed.

Newt on Border Issues:

“If we’re prepared to be thorough enough, we can control the border.... Every place on the border that we try to control, we succeed. It’s been a failure of will. It’s been a failure of resources. And frankly, there are a lot of people in the United States who want illegal immigration either because they want cheap workforces or because they think they’re going to get future votes….

T he president, as commander-in- chief, has an obligation to defend the border. He shouldn’t hold that obligation hostage to a larger bill. They could pass a border control bill tomorrow. They could effectively control this border in six months, if they wanted to. We have the resources. We have the assets. We know how to do it. But it has been totally bogged down in bureaucracy.”

Gingrich strongly supports monetary sanctions for employers who hire illegal aliens:

“I wouldn’t put [employers who hire illegal aliens] in jail. I would just tell them that if they make money by hiring people illegally that we will bankrupt them.”

On June 15, 2011, Rep. Gingrich tweeted his support for Sen. Grassley’s mandatory E-Verify legislation, S. 1196.

She explained that if you read the article...and other articles as well Naps.

Whenit comes to divorce and families I dont’ think any get their heads around it very fast and it usually takes a long time to come to terms with it.

My own family had divorce in it and it took 8 yrs.

Hm... That’s an interesting data set for Cain. The scandal breaks, and he drops, then there is a leveling out and an upward spike which immediately drops again with no rhyme or reason behind it. Something’s not right with that.

Maybe another week of polling without the Lame Stream Media hyping the non-scandal scandal and we’ll get a better picture.

Cheers

Are you are not interested in discussion on this or are you simply using the posts to put out links? Seems to me you’re simply a troll on Newt’s threads...your history is proving such IMO.

This is going to be Cain’s election.

There is but one issue:

Get the Insiders Out!

All of the “candidates” but Cain are insiders; he can’t lose.
