An excellent idea on several levels.
First, it raises $5 for the City of Madison for something you can print out on your computor for free. Raising Revenues.
Second, though I doubt these will be springing up in rural areas, in the city it provides important information for local criminals as to which homes are safest to hit. Criminals are nothing more than small businessmen after all, though like some politicians they don't pay taxes. Still, government shouldn't be standing in the way of their business expansion.
As to armed plumbers, who would rape or kill you were it not for the sign, fix your own toilet.
Oh, before posting your sign, check with your insurance company regarding the waver of legal immunity for holders of concealed carry permits which you're forgoing.

If I put one of these up at my house, would it be considered hunting over a baited field?

politics ping.
A few signs on stores the last few months, my wife loves to tell me "you can't go there", which I don't.

Why do they need a negative sign? Why not something positive like "I like being robbed" or " Please Rape Me".

Want to keep guns out of your home? Buy a 'no-gun' sign from the city Or just pin a $100 bill to your butt and scream "Victim here!"
-----
What is it with libs that makes them think no guns = safety?

If a lot of people buy these signs for their homes, there should be a market for another sign--one that reads
DO NOT BOTHER TO BREAK IN
THIS HOUSE WAS ALREADY BROKEN INTO
AND EVERYTHING OF VALUE HAS BEEN TAKEN

To me the sign says, “I don’t believe in the social contract, and won’t help my neighbors in time of need.”
To: SJackson
That means that everyone from the Mary Kay lady to the plumber can come into your home packing heat, unless you tell them they can't, or unless you post a sign.It should include criminals with intent on that sign because THEY are the most likely to be a danger!
How stupid to leave that out of a warning sign for crying out loud!

I can’t believe how perfect a bill the Republican Legislature came up with.
Having to post a ‘we’re unarmed’ sign is like a dream.

When Texas first passed the CHL, several businesses in my town put up 30.06 signs (No Tresspass by CHL holders). I made it a point to talk to each owner and manager to explain why I would be taking my business elsewhere. Now there is one Stop and Rob in town with the sign. Vote with your feet, vote with your checkbook.

The burden remains on the homeowner to prove someone has entered their property with a firearm. If it’s concealed the ONLY way they would know is if you volunteer the information or submit to a search.
