"Commander-in-Chief" Debate Recap, Winners and Losers ...."Overall Winner: Rick Perry. In the aftermath of Wednesdays gaffe, we have seen a much more human side for Perry. He actually did well in that debate, except for the 53 second brain freeze. Saturday, Perry shined. While he might not have delivered the most style and substance, I believe he helped his campaign more than anyone else. That makes Perry the winner.".......
Your support and loyalty are admirable. But Perry has been reduced to a caricature. If he didn’t have the war chest he does, he’d be getting as many questions as Bachmann.
Unless of course, he keeps botching things and providing hilarity.
Unfortunately since he’s Perry, when he begins to read the page the audience listens quizzically to what sounds like meaningless bubbling.
With his typical aplomb we find Perry actually took a page from the guppy.
It was obvious Perry had not been drinking at all, this was his best debate performance yet, I was impressed, though; not enough to sway me away from Cain, who I thought had a lousy performance, but I kind of expected that, I had hoped he would surprise me.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Frankly, I liked the self-deprecating humor. It’s very difficult to fake that, and I think it shows a basic humility that I like.
I have the feeling that if Perry were to win the nomination and became president he, like Obummer, will resort to a teleprompter. They are both dumb like rocks.
To his credit; Perry did very well in the Debate last night. I’m still going to be as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs if he has to debate Obama.
Watching Rick Perry on the debate stage is like watching Mike Tyson on Jeopardy.
He is a drag on the rest of the real candidates including Michelle and Santorum.
Herman Cain had a horrible debate last night and for good reason. His inexperience was on display and his rhetoric was unable to cover his foreign policy ignorance.
Perry did great..One could almost think that Pelley teed up that softball for Rick..it was a gift....a set-up, and Perry hit it out of the park..could Pelley have wanted to give Perry a chance?
Perry was fantastic. I loved his answers! He reminds me so much of Reagan.
It wasn’t a page from Reagan, it was from Bevis and Butthead.
"I refuse to use my youth and inexperience compared to Herman Cain against him!"
"We've outlawed Parental Consent. Bombing Starts in Five Minutes!"
Cheers!
It is so good to see this kind of edgy sarcasm on FR. To spoof on the joke that is Perry by point an entire thread that pretends to support his moribund campaign is wickedly clever. Kudos!
Of course with Perry basically reduced to being a punchline, he is becoming almost satire proof. At some point he's just too pitiful to mock.
Haha! Funny ... :o-)
First it's ludicrous to believe that a normal person or even an extraordinary one has every word necessary on the tip of his tongue in an open question format. I often take a few seconds to retrieve the proper word in speaking about a subject the I have a premeditated firm fixed position on.
Secondly the important point is that the Federal Government must be made smaller and less intrusive, and that means more than just three departments must be reduced, so it's a large area of thought requiring a reasonably lengthy answer not favorable to sound bite timing.
Finally, Perry is doing his own thinking on this and in that way is like Reagan who was almost entirely responsible for his own conservative thinking and policy, he borrowed very little.
