I agree. One of the two conservative candidates is going to have to drop out. My guess is that will happen by NH. The Iowa caucuses will tell the story.

"The libs are starting to line up their guns now that Newt is surging."

I've said that the Marxist brought out their big guns for Cain when he surged in the polls, but they will bring out a fleet of battleships for Newt. Newt has already fought and defeated the Marxists once. The last thing the Marxists want is a return of Newt. Only Sarah scares them more then Newt but if the truth be told they should be more afraid of Newt.

“The survey of 347 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents

Sorry the polling sample is really too small to draw conclusions. Accurate polls require 800+ random samples. This poll has less then half that.”

But you would be surprised how many morons we have on FR that would rather run with it and actually discuss it like it was as good as gold.

347 people? The person who posted this should be embarrassed.

This story is a load of crap. They have Mitt at 23% which is where he’s been for five years. The question is how many of the remaining 77% will eventually come over to Team Mittens. All evidence to date says the answer to this is very, very few.

Have you noticed in the non sound bite debates how Cain just about always deferred to Newt to answer questions? Does that tell you anything?

300 something Republicans and Independents who ARE NOT LIKELY VOTERS

Thanks for checking on that. It's all that really matters in these polls. If a poll isn't of likely voters, it's not worth worrying over.

Cain and Perry have had a brutal time lately and they might be done. Newt has looked very impressive in the debates and it might be time for msdnc to come up with some scandals for him.

I want to vote for more than a great debater. Voting for Gingrich is a vote for “Ye Old GOP Establishment”. I’m sticking with Cain!

After 3 *YEARS* of not posting a thing on FR, why have you come out of hiatus to talk negatively about the Republican front-runner?

Are you the same person who used the TBBT account back in 2008?

Other polls today are showing a similar thing, or that he is now second.

Not good. I think it finally took him down, but he can easily regain those points.

Another poll from CBS has good news though...Cain still in first, with Newt and Romney tied for second.

There are a lot of undecideds though, so lots of votes still at play.

> Cain is a political novice who would lose in a landslide...

Sorry, I can’t buy that.
By that logic Obama would have lost as well, being FAR less experienced than McCain.
I do like Newt, but face it, he is fatally flawed as a POTUS candidate.
The idea of Cain/Newt doesn’t bother me, provided that Newt can bring EV that no other choice can.
