About 50 minutes before it was about to begin, PSU administrators canceled Joe Paterno's weekly news conference Tuesday.
Penn State administrators have canceled Joe Paterno's weekly news conference in which he was expected to field questions about a sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach.
Paterno's son Scott tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that the decision was made by President Graham Spanier's office.
Scott Paterno says his father was disappointed and was prepared to take questions about the scandal as well as the upcoming game against Nebraska.
Rocked by an alleged child sex abuse scandal, Penn State issued a statement late Monday saying that Paterno will only answer questions about football Tuesday during his regularly scheduled press conference.

Maybe, but 9 years is a little too long to stay "freaked".
How many times do you think McQuery saw Sandusky with a young boy during those 9 years, and did nothing?
Ok. See, I didn’t know that... or at least I’d heard about that crime in passing but wasn’t aware of the details. Thanks
I heard that on the radio yesterday. Just gone after making the decision not to do anything after being briefed by the detectives that wire taped him apologizing to the mother for his actions.
The reporter noted he was a pretty “weird” guy.
quite often, with seemingly, no questions asked beyond that day.
For the 10th year in a row, Penn State received a five-star rating the highest score possible on the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender-Friendly Campus Climate Index.

Still waiting for a statement supporting Sandusky from NAMBLA.
[Yes, he may not be legally responsible, but he certainly has moral culpability. ]
He certainly is. How many other boys were sodomized after his failure to report this?
[IMHO the grad assistant (McQuarry, and his Dad, who was with him when McQuarry told Paterno) should have reported it to the police immediately after reporting it to Paterno as it was done.]
I agree. I wonder if they were asked not to.
The police don’t always know the details of certain laws...there are reports out now on whether he will be prosecuted or not. His age and reputation may get him off. Personally I don’t think he should face jail time but he should be charged.
[IMHO McQueary should have AT LEAST called 911 IMMEDIATELY! It goes to the sad culture of PSU that every one from the janitors all the way up to the president protected Sandusky and allowed him to continue raping boys in Joe’s locker room. ]
So true. It is sickening. In a sane world, McQuarry would have kicked the crap out of him after what he witnessed.
(and yes, I know that scores of his old players love him and I also know that some head football coaches are nice guys, e.g., Tony Dungy, Herm Edwards...Ill think of a few more...just give me some more time).

Funny that KansasGirl picks the coach at Kansas State! Just kidding, KG, you are correct. Good man from what I know...
Personally, I hope the victims sue Penn State into oblivion.
