Ron Paul's Statement of Faith (says he's "accepted Jesus Christ")
Pundit House ^ | July 13, 2011 | Ron Paul

Posted on 11/06/2011 6:40:00 PM PST by Kurt Evans

My faith is a deeply private issue to me, and I don't speak on it in great detail during my speeches because I want to avoid any appearance of exploiting it for political gain. Let me be very clear here: I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, and I endeavor every day to follow Him in all I do and in every position I advocate...

America became the greatest nation in human history because a dedicated band of Patriots believed their God-given rights were worth fighting for, even if it meant challenging the world's most powerful nation in what many deemed a "hopeless" cause...

Since I'm asking for your vote and your trust to lead this nation, let me tell you a little bit about my background and beliefs.

My parents raised my four brothers and me on a dairy near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they set clear examples for each of us about faith, honest living, and individual responsibility. Their Christian values helped inspire two of my brothers to eventually enter the ministry, and provided me with the foundation I needed to practice medicine and one day become a U.S. Representative.

In addition to my time in Congress, I am proud to have delivered over 4,000 babies as a country doctor in Texas. As I trained to practice medicine, I became convinced without a doubt that life begins at the moment of conception. I never performed an abortion, and I never once found an abortion necessary to save the life of the mother. In fact, I successfully helped women struggling with their pregnancies to seek other options, including adoption...

We must stand for life—not allow millions of innocent children to continue to be slaughtered with the government's approval.

We must follow the Biblical mandate of using honest weights and measures—not printing money out of thin air in almost complete secrecy and then handing it over to oppressive dictators.

We must only send our men and women to fight for our country when the mission is clear, every tool needed to win is provided, and we respect the Constitution by declaring war...

As President, I give you my word that I will only exercise my authority within the confines of the Constitution, and I will work every day to rein in a runaway federal government by binding it with the chains of that document.

“Oh, and by the way, 911 was an inside job.”

Are you serious?

You are not just wrong, you are crazy. That makes you a perfect Paulbot.

You can’t fool a conservative with the truth.

You are proof of that.

When he talks to his libertarian supporters, he goes into his Federal Reserve rants.

The Federal Reserve is a much bigger threat to this country than all the muslims and all the drugs combined. We should all be ranting.

Are you serious?

Yes.

You are not just wrong,

You are correct. I am not wrong.

you are crazy.

What's your point?

That makes you a perfect Paulbot.

There was a time when I would have considered that an insult. Not because it means anything, but because you clearly mean to insult me and that insults just a little. But I have learned enough about this subject to know that you are, as Cain says, brainwashed. Being part of the numbed down group think crowd gives you a lot of buddies but no credibility. And I'm not trying to insult you anymore than Cain was trying to insult black people. Just telling it like it is.

Then he cannot be a good libertarian if he truly is a Christian.

Explain.

"They love to be all things to all people."

Exactly. Just like the Tea Party movement, they try and hijack anything that comes along, as long as it lifts their golden cow, RON PAUL!

“doing what is right in their own eyes”

is not considered a “good thing” to a believer.

Following a God-defined standard is.

He said in the debate he WAS FOR LEGALIZING HEROIN.

FACT.

His supporters are a bunch of dopers who want to legalize dope.

It’s his #1 issue.

FACT. That’s what he spends his time on crafting legislation for, while the US Debt crisis was full on.

Yeah, that’s conservative. Kids on Heroin. Legally.

Ya gotta be smoking dope to be a Ron Paul supporter.

Inf fact, LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN NAME!!! It’s short for a friggin’s Pot stogie!

ADMIT IT YOU ARE A DOPE SMOKER AND THAT”S WHY YOU SUPPORT RON PAUL

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

So, where are the drugs mentioned in this verse? Actually, the word translated “sorcery” is the Greek word pharmakeia,4 from which we get the English word “pharmacy.” The primary meaning is “the use or the administering of drugs” (usually associated with sorcery or idolatry). Since this verse comes from a list of things that if practiced would preclude one from heaven, this should be a reasonably strong suggestion that the Christian should not practice drug use. In addition, the book of Revelation lists drug use as one of the things for which the unrepentant will suffer the wrath of God.5

Please cite what part of the Constitution authorizes the Federal government to become involved in regulating or prohibiting the sale and distribution of narcotics or other drugs, whether therapeutic or not. The states are certainly within their authority to regulate and prohibit marijuana, heroin, etc. When this nation had a government that abided by the Constitution as it was written and according to the understanding of the Framers, these matters, in fact virtually all matters involving trade and personal behavior, were relegated to the states and the people.

If we are to address the serious problems this country faces, we must bind the source of the problems, a severely metathesized Federal government. Pro-big government conservatives will have to give up on their pet projects, including most of the Federal law enforcement establishment and endless intervention overseas (why do we have troops in Germany and Korea to this day) for the sake of consistency if they wish to curb leftist abuses, such as entitlements.

So, what prevents a libertarian from following a God-defined standard? I don’t understand the quote you begin your post with. I think the problem comes from the mistaken belief that allowing something equals endorsing it. It does not.

SO reverse that argument, why would a national politician be concerned with legalizing drugs, it is up to the states...

As far as the military overseas, that has been explained to the Paulbots more than a few times. That he and his brood cannot understand 21st Century military needs is but one of several problems he has...

Hmm. I guess the US military doesn't understand its own needs, either. Why else would those dopey active duty military people donate more money to Paul than to any other candidate? Must be all those dopers, truthers, and "losertarians" in uniform.

The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign raised more campaign donations from active military than all other presidential candidates—Republican or Democrat—including having raised more funds from this segment than all other GOP competitors combined, and more than incumbent President Barack Obama.

75K?

That's about right given the numbers. That would cover the dopers, thruthers and losertarians, the folks mostly in the rear with the gear, same ones I see day in and day out whining about being put active after joining the guard to pay for the school their hippie parents could not afford. Same few we see out there screaming with code pink now, with all the civilian Paul folks.

And definitely the ones who are clueless about large scale strategy. Not their job...

Okay, so more active duty military personnel give to Paul than to any other candidate, but according to you, those doing the giving are just the dregs in uniform that don't understand anything but how to do their own job.

Awesome.

Just how do you intend to back up this assertion . . . or are you just blowing air out your nether orifice?

No one can argue that. The point that I’m making is RuPaul’s chameleon-like behavior is sickening.
