URBANDALE, Iowa — Herman Cain’s Iowa state director thumbed through a stack of supporter sign-up forms at the campaign’s headquarters here, telling ABC News that the sexual harassment allegations that have rocked the Cain campaign this week have actually been a “catalyst” in this state.
Larry Tuel, who runs Cain’s campaign in Iowa, said that the endless stream of news stories on Cain’s alleged misbehavior toward women have attracted new supporters and emboldened existing ones.
“The story has made some people angry,” Tuel said in an interview on Thursday. “We think that people want to show their support for Mr. Cain. I think the average Iowan that’s supporting Mr. Cain or any candidate sees through this story, sees that there is nothing to it and that they’re out in droves to support Mr. Cain.”

Probably so, to the point they will never recover their credibility.
I think people feel that Herman is sincere and trustworthy. Something that has been lost in politics for a long, long time.
Personally I feel the best combination is Newt/Herman. Sure Newt has baggage but don’t they all? Newt’s been around long enough to handle the politics and Herman would be a whiz at economics.
The fact that he got back in their faces and actually defended himself is what saved him.
I am so tired of spineless "conservatives" who "compromise" everything away at the first hint of trouble.
I want somebody who will get up on his hind legs and fight the Left back on their own terms.
Maybe not likely to happen but I would love to see Cain kick Romney's butt in New Hampshire. That would very quickly end Romney in the primaries.

I am not saying that Herman Cain compares with the Lord. But I am saying that what is being done to him today is very similar to what mob mentality did to Jesus.
Jesus came to earth to save sinners.And they crucified Him.

Newt definitely brings the necessary "gravitas" (forgive my use of an overused word) in the political arena, but I don't believe he has the personality to capture the attention of the nation. As we saw in '08, if the top of the ticket does not have appeal, having that appeal in the VP slot is just not enough for a win.
IMHO - CNN last night was backing away from the Cain hit as quickly as they could. So quickly and openly that I got the impression the MSM knows something pro-Cain that could come out of all this. Could it be a part of Cain's wife's upcoming interview?
