Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain decided to try to sing away his blues during an appearance at the National Press Club today.
The former pizza magnate burst into an a capella rendition of a gospel song as questions about alleged decade-old claims of sexual harassment swirled.
Saying he wanted to share his faith with the assembled reporters, Cain used his rich baritone voice to nail a verse from the Dottie Rambo number He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need.

What Herman Cain did today was highly offensive and insensitive to Muslims.
Cool. Gingrich and Cain are my top 2. I’d be happy with that ticket in either order.
If he were interviewing for a pastor position, okay. But he isnt. Hes done
So a man is not capable of being president and having other abilities? obama shoots hoops and plays golf all the time. I’ve got no problems if Herman Cain can sing. And I’ve got not problems if he wants to proudly display that he’s a Christian. In fact, I think more of him now.

Yeah, the poor muslim pig swine head choppers.....Rock on Herman!!!! GOOD FOR HIM is right!!!!
This brief singing was great. It added richness to the message and shows that he is human, real. No one would sing that song if it didn’t mean something authentic.
The more I think about it, Cain is the only candidate that will be able to survive the Obama machine when the attacks start being hurled. Attacking Cain constantly will begin to look racist.
As a black man, Cain will be able to slam Obama during the debates without worrying about the appearance of racism. None of the other candidates have his authentic personal charisma.
Citizen Cain goes to Washington and sings a song about salvation to the National Press Club. God bless you, Mr. Cain.

A: He Looked Beyond My Fault...
I hope that's not his answer to such questions...
They judged entirely by what they saw on that clip. This is like judging a man by a snatch of conversation one hears as one is passing by.
Did you not look at the interview?
I am not 100% decided at this point but I am leaning more towards Cain at this point. I’ve got a lot of respect for the man.
I know his answers. My bad, not stating clearer that it’s the title of the article and the way it’s presented that gave a wrong impression. Hence, my post.
I apologize..I misunderstood the context...thought that was his response to question.
Born in Tennessee of American born parents...
Yeppers Herman Cain is highly qualified to be POTUS
:)
Hildy, this is not to just single you out. This is to all the nay-sayers who pronounced Cain to be done....or done-in.....because he sang a stanza of a gospel song at The National Press Club.
I think y’all are ashamed of Jesus! And y’all think Herman should be, too, and should sheepishly keep his mouth shut.
I think Herman Cain is just what this Country needs; and feel that perhaps God sent him for such a time as this. In fact, though I secretly was irked when Sarah Palin threw in the towel, and groused to myself that she was forsaking the cause; I now begin to perceive that she was moved by the Holy Spirit to bow out and remove any impediment she might have caused in Herman Cain’s path.
Now....back to the song at the NPC: God says in his Word.....paraphrasing.....whosoever honors me; I will honor.
As brother Cain continues honoring God; I think brother Cain’s “stock” will continue to escalate! And the Roves and Krauthammers of the “Establishment” will be powerless to do anything about it!
Too bad you didn't watch the sixty-minute event. Cain was Able!!!
He’s the first truly Black man running for President. It has mystified me that the African American people cried out to God to send someone to free them from their oppression. Once freed, they slowly, but surely, forgot about Him.
What does this man do when set upon by those who would bear false witness? Calls upon the Lord.
In times like these, a man humble enough to run to God when faced with obstacles beyond his means has my vote.
Here’s someone who actually has the moral and racial authority to end the race hustling and character retarding programs that has kept African Americans ‘on the plantation’.
He could have done the photo op thing, etc. Guy turns to God for help.
Anyone wondering whether Cain’s a Muslim at this point?
I had goosebumps watching it. The man has the courage of his faith.
It’s a big part of whether he’s qualified to serve. I don’t think he’d be fool enough to think he could do the job without God. Most of the other people in the race? Not so sure. The job should go to someone with more than a measure of real humility.
It transcended “Brilliant”.
Wow. There’s something I don’t see every day on FR. Thanks for setting a great example.
Agree completely.
Man hasn’t said a word about his accusers. He just called upon the Lord to take care of it.
That’s a policy that worked very well for King David, and his son Solomon, until he screwed the pooch.
