Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain decided to try to sing away his blues during an appearance at the National Press Club today.
The former pizza magnate burst into an a capella rendition of a gospel song as questions about alleged decade-old claims of sexual harassment swirled.
Saying he wanted to share his faith with the assembled reporters, Cain used his rich baritone voice to nail a verse from the Dottie Rambo number He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need.

Sooo, which candidate are you for?
With all due respect your a wuss.
Also you. Which candidate?
He didn’t “just” sing, he gave an interview first. He sang at the end when asked:

I watched the *entire* hour replay on CSPAN tonight. Cain sang part of a gospel song for the last 45 seconds of the hour, at the request of the moderator. The only other "God" reference made during the hour was when Cain talked about unalienable rights endowed by our "Creator". Not even during the abortion discussion did Cain mention religion.
You either did not watch the Press Club event, in which case your comment is uninformed; or you did watch the event, in which case your comment is intentionally misleading. Either way, you suck.
Full disclosure: I am a Cain supporter.
Begging your pardon, but you have set a standard that no Republican will ever meet. The lamestream media will trot out spurrious charges on any candidate. By your standard, they are dead at that point.
You gotta get tougher.
And bowing down to the Saudi king is presidential? Whats wrong with singing a gospel tune anyway? Would the founders disqualify one as such?
right now, I like Gingrich/Cain. I think we need someone who understands the way the world works..who understands how to get things done and who will command respect on the world stage. The only person on that debate stage who fills that criteria is Gingrich. He did it in 1994...he’ll do it again. I would like to see Cain as his VP. They seem to really like each other. I was at the debate and they were hanging together the whole time. I came to Gingrich, I wasn’t a supporter at first. But it makes sense now. We can’t afford someone learning on the job. It’s too important.
Are you asking specifically about his singing a gospel song at the very end of the one-hour event, or are you saying his performance during the other 58 minutes of the hour was not presidential?
Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers just men who will rule in the fear of God [Exodus 18:21]. . . . If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted . . . If our government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws . Noah Webster,
Yup. Better put that spiritual-singin’ black man back on the Plantation where he belongs.
Better put him back out in the fields with them other singers.
You know, ill informed people annoy me. He was asked to sing - it wasn’t part of his agenda of things to do today - so lighten up.
Not “white and delightsome” enough for you RomneyBot ???
Yes, Gingrich/Cain. Cain’s singing is so fine - if he made a record, he’d had gobs of cash and part of it would be mine.
We are endowed by our Creator the unalienable right to deny the very existence of our Creator. I guess that's what we've come to.
Part of me pleads, God help us! The other part of me asks, Why should He bother anymore?
And just maybe, He doesn't bother anymore, and hence we now have Berry Sotero as president in the White House.
Cain/Newt or Newt/Cain is a great ticket either way. Getting Newt to the top of the ticket is a steep climb at this point. Never say never but Cain would be awesome too with Newt as VP. We would have some wise leadership overall in the WH with those 2.
He is not pushing religion on you, so relax and eat a donut.
It's call Life and it happens everyday.
