Looks like they have good intel inside the Cain camp - that “cut back in hours” getting him out of the limelight will help. Godspeed, sir. The Marxist press will devour you if they can.

“Hours after the Politico’s Roger Simon accused the GOP of being racist, the Politico begins a sincere effort to destroy the black guy running to be the GOP’s Presidential nominee. The opposition dump on Herman Cain has begun in earnest. Before getting into the details, let’s pay attention to what this means.

It means for certain that Herman Cain’s lead in the polling is real — very, very real. People are taking him seriously. Mr. Cain is about to spend a week in Washington answering questions and giving speeches. Someone wanted to make sure he has a miserable week..”

Red State brings out an important point when they say:

“Hours after the Politico’s Roger Simon accused the GOP of being racist, the Politico begins a sincere effort to destroy the black guy running to be the GOP’s Presidential nominee. ..”

What a bunch of phonies!

So, the Politico claims there were two settlements based on anonymous sources... but former chairs of the Nat. Restaurant Association don’t even know about it? (And Politico’s counsel probably told their hit men Journolistas that even if the chairmen did know, that they couldn’t comment... all to heighten the sense of “guilt” by suggestion). Seems very, very fishy.

It also seems like Politico is using the one actual (alleged) harassment case- which the Politico article notes Cain won, and that the woman had to pay his attorney fees- in a sneaky, suggestive way of implying that it was the supposed “settlement” case.

And even if there was a settlement, as this blog notes: “To be fair to Cain, allegations of this sort can be made and settlements can be reached on the advice on corporate counsel even if the question of fault is ambiguous”. (IOW, it’s not a court case, so the allegations aren’t put forth before a jury to assess factual credibility):

Once around the beginning of WWII when LBJ was running for reelection to congress his opponent was starting to gain on him.
He called his campaign staff together and told them to put out the word that his opponent was having unnatural relations with his neighbor's hogs.
One of the staff jumped up and exclaimed, “We can't accuse him of effing pigs—no one would believe it!”
Johnson replied, “Not now but just wait until we get him to DENY it!”

LBJ won reelection easily.

I seem to remember that we had serial womanizer in the WH - what was his name again? And what party was he in? I don't want Cain to be a womanizer, of course, but this is a joke. We know we're on the right tract when the lib media starts attacking.

This calls for celebrations. Aimlessly throwing these accusations, akin to drukenly and randomly firing a shotgun into a Marine battalion, is proof positive that the militant leftists are mortified of Cain and are aware of how much support he can take from Obama. Time to bring out the champagne, whiskey, vokda and maybe, for some, the cigars and cigarettes too

excerpt:

"...the woman tells how Gore greeted her at the door of his room at the Hotel Lucia for the 11 p.m. appointment with a hug that "went on a bit long," then quipped "call me Al." Hotel staff had told the licensed therapist when booking her that the client was Al Gore, but that he was going under the name "Mr Stone."

Gore allegedly asked her to focus on his abdominal area and adductors -- the inner thigh muscles -- as well as his back and other areas.

While his lower body was covered with a sheet, she said, Gore "became vocal" with "muffled moans" and asked her to go lower, getting angry when she refused.

"It appeared he was demanding sexual favors or sexual behaviors," the woman said.

She then asked Gore to show her where he wanted to be massaged and he "grabbed my hand, shoved it down under the sheet to his ***** **** area, my fingers brushing against his ***** and firmly planted my hand on his pubic crest region and said to me 'There!' in a very sharp, loud, angry-sounding tone."

The woman told police she was caught in "a perfect storm" in a room with someone who was "Teflon-coated in terms of his credibility and celebrity status"..."

Police specifically responded to claims by the woman -- who said she remained clothed through the alleged encounter -- that she had noticed her black slacks had "stains" on them.

Police said they did not collect her attire because they believed it would not provide evidence.

“At this point, the Police Bureau does not consider this an ongoing investigation unless new evidence is received in this case,” Wednesday's police statement said.

ALL THE EX-PRESIDENT'S SCANDALS
Nurse backs up Clinton rape charge
Attended Broaddrick's wounds after alleged assault in Arkansas

June 26, 2003

[a few excerpts from article...]

Kelsey recalls Broaddrick saying the meeting with Clinton began with small talk, and "she was a little surprised he was by himself."

"She said he was showing her locations outside the window there in Little Rock, and then, all of a sudden, he just kind of grabbed her and started kissing her," remembers Kelsey.

"He overtook her and pushed her to the bed, and from that point on it was just a rape."

Kelsey says Broaddrick explained how her lip became swollen: "He bit her lip to try to keep her from struggling with him."

Mr. Cain should come out and say, “For 43 years I have only had eyes for my Gloria...” and tell a story of his courting her. Then “Epic Fail” will once again describe Politico and Geraldo.

I smell a RINOs hands all over this sexual harassment smear on Cain.

By which I mean Perry or Mittens.
Destroying Herman helps both, and right now --- mostly LaRaza Ricky.

'sexual harassment' can be anything from a guy saying Good Morning to a lesbo. Or opening a door for a feminazi.

Yoo hoo, Marty60, Cain basher and promoter of Politico extraordinaire! You forgot this in your rush to call Cain a pervert, not that it would make any difference, based on what we've already seen from your alacrity to stick it in:
Ron Magruder, Denise Marie Fugo and Joseph Fassler, the chair, vice chair and immediate past chairman of the National Restaurant Association board of directors at the time of Cain’s departure, said they hadn’t heard about any complaints regarding Cain making unwanted advances.

“I have never heard that. It would be news to me,” said Fugo, who runs a Cleveland, Ohio, catering company, adding such behavior would be totally out of character for the Cain she knew. “He’s very gracious.”

Fassler, who helped bring Cain on board as CEO of the restaurant association, said that any inappropriate behavior was not brought to his attention and that he would be upset to learn it had gone on and he was not made aware of it. “That’s a shock to me,” Fassler said. “As an officer during all of Herman’s years there as a paid executive… none of that stuff ever surfaced to me. Nobody ever called me, complained about this, nor did I ever hear that from Peter Kilgore, nor did I ever hear that from Herman Cain.”

Fassler — who ran a Phoenix food-service company and finished his term as chairman the month before Cain’s June 1999 departure but remained on the board’s executive committee — described Cain as treating men and women identically and asserted it was “not within his character” to make unwanted advances. “It’s not what I know of him,” Fassler said.

Much like Fassler, almost all board members remember Cain fondly and say he left on good terms.

Cain was “extremely professional” and “fair” to female staffers at the restaurant association, recalled Lee Ellen Hayes, who said she “worked fairly closely with” Cain in the late 1990s, when she was an executive at the National Restaurant Association Education Fund, a Chicago-based offshoot of the group.

Cain’s treatment of women was “the same as his treatment of men. Herman treated everyone great,” said Mary Ann Cricchio, who was elected to the board of the restaurant group in 1998. She said Cain left such a good impression on the organization that when he spoke at a group event in January of this year, as he was considering a presidential bid, “he had unanimous support in the room.”
We know nothing about the accusers and the specifics of the accusations from a dozen years ago are reported rather vaguely by Politico: “episodes that left the women upset and offended” and “physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.”

The only reason this kind of smear happens is to get people to abandon their candidate.

Just stick with him and that will be the payback to the turds who started this.

Many years ago, my Late Husband was accused of sexual harassment because he complimented a co-worker on her appearance.

Rather than endure a lawsuit, the company he worked for removed him from a very lucrative residency (computer specialist in a huge law firm) and demoted him back to schlepping his tools from one building to another fixing hardware. He submitted to this because he was made to feel so ashamed of his “infraction” and was glad he wasn’t fired completely.

I hate “Feminism”. And I am a self-employed, self-reliant Biker Woman.

I find it interesting that the racist left continues to attempt to smear conservative black men with this kind of allegation.

As I read it, this issue is basicall summed up as follows:

On one side (Politico) you have this:

We have a report where we know nothing about the accusers and the specifics of the accusations from a dozen years ago.

They, at this point, are simply reported very vaguely by Politico: “episodes that left the women upset and offended” and “physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable," and that, "they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.”

We have allegation of payoff in the five figure range, but again, nothing specific. IMHO, until the accusers come up with something much more specific, like names, dates and places, it is going to continue to be nothing more than an attemted smear campaign from my perspecitve.

Maybe Politico has more...time will tell, but at this point, it's not out there.

...and then, on the other side (Herman Cain's) you have this:
Ron Magruder, Denise Marie Fugo and Joseph Fassler, the chair, vice chair and immediate past chairman of the National Restaurant Association board of directors through the entire time of Cain’s position at the Restruant Association, said they hadn’t heard about any complaints regarding Cain making unwanted advances.

Very specific denials and testinomies to Cain's professionalism and behavior from very specific people over very specific time frames which would have covered the events in question.

So, at this pont, who you gonna believe?

And, at this point I do not believe it was the DNC that did this. Too soon. They would have held it for the general. I believe some RINOs, afraid of what Cain represents and his climb in the polls, are taking shots at him.

But, they will have to be a LOT more spoecific than this, and Cain's responses today have been forthright in denial. He said the accusations were false.
