On that day, federal authorities are going to shut off all television and radio communications simultaneously at 2:00PM EST to complete the first ever test of the national Emergency Alert System (EAS).

Thank you sir and I am aware. I hold a tech+ license but my concern is restriction of movement or travel as “transitions” are made. Also, if the confiscation of equipment is in the works, they know where we live. The software has been in use for some time to identify transceivers by each individual and unique key-up fingerprint. This has come in handy for repeater stations to identify dead key-ups and those who just keep activating for whatever reason. Once the operator gives the call sign for legitimate use, bingo.
The military can fix location of a vhf/uhf transmitter in milliseconds when active in the field with one airborne detector, with precise co-ordinates. I don’t know how they triangulate. Perhaps satellites are involved? Worse case scenario, a small missile can be directed to the GPS co-ordinates. Of course, they may have more pressing engagements to consider besides local communications. Ain’t modern technology grand?
In normal circumstances and a real American in the White House, this would be no big deal.
Given who obama is, it causes a lot of suspicion.
He has shown over and over again that he has no loyalty to this country or it’s people.
We all better be planning on meeting somewhere we can defend. Strength in numbers will save us, and we can claim a part of the US as ours, enforce the borders, and after the rest of the country dissolves into anarchy, we can just step up and reclaim it.

Concur with your assessment defining the difference between a test and a demonstration. Leaves me wondering who’s the intended audience anyway?
Consider the fire alarm system. Tests occur during off hours. One only conducts drills with operational equipment during normal business hours. Nothing erodes user confidence faster than equipment failure, compliments of an untested system. Bush’s fault? LOL.
This event will be interesting, to say the least. My employer’s student broadcast station will participate, and I’ll observe. No doubt all of our “studies” majors will consider this event, no matter the outcome, part of a grand conspiracy.

The short version is that on Feb. 20th, 1971, an operator who worked at NORAD named W. S. Eberhardt loaded a tape into the teletype transmitting system to be sent out for the usual Saturday morning test. Problem is, it wasn’t the test tape...it was an actual attack warning, with the proper authentication codes and everything. It went out to everyone who had an Associated Press or United Press International teletype machine.
A bunch of stations did as they were supposed to and went off the air. Another bunch of stations tried to verify the message, some ignored the message entirely, and some didn’t even GET the message. To make matters worse, even though all stations were supposed to have the authenticator words in envelopes in the studio, some opened their envelopes and found nothing at all.
It was an embarrassment for NORAD, but a giant failure for the EBS system. They made some changes, but didn’t re-vamp the system until the advent of the EAS a few years ago.

Does this surprise you? Like my initial post said, if it is electronic...the government has control of it at some level. They may not use it, but they have the ability to do so...at any time they desire.
There is much more going on than many of us will ever understand.

If Iran we about to launch a massive attack, and all those CTs have some basis of validity, what dates might be convenient milestones to watch?
I recall on 9/11 how this system was NOT activated. Why not? We were all already watching it unfold on TV? I live in Cleveland and we had one of those planes, with a real struggle happening, turn around right over our very heads. Cleveland evacuated, but there was not an EAS signal to do so. Why not? The retired military person, who was President of the company I worked for, didn't follow the ‘order to evacuate,’ why not?
So why all this emergency EAS testing on systems and nationwide when we won't use it? November 9th is exactly one year and a day before the second Tuesday in November 2012. Election Day. If elections were this year they would be on Nov. 8th. Coincidence?
Now on another thread nearly a week ago...I mentioned that these kids at OWS with their crazy manifesto were not thinking for themselves. Look into EM Brainwashing and the article I posted on the thread from last week. The ‘human microphone’ has nothing to do with being heard. Keep in mind how ‘wired’ our kids are. Read the education article linked at the bottom of this post. The kids have already been programmed to do this and accept the ‘prompts.’ There is a reason we are finding out the leaders are upper level communists.
So to all those FReepers who think we won't have elections in 2012 or are worried we won't rest assured we will. But be very concerned about the day after ...no matter who wins.

Nov 9 was kristallnacht ! Anyone know anything else attached to the date? Any Islamic significance ?
