Texas Governor Rick Perry lost his cool, lost respect, and lost some supporters in Las Vegas. He might have also lost a prime opportunity to shape his image and get back on top in the race for the GOP nomination.

The voting public are sick of fighting and bickering of the two parties and of candidates. They want ideas and solutions. The candidate that convinces the voters they have the right ideas and solutions will win. It will have absolutely nothing to do with attacking other candidates. It does seem that the primary voters polled through this election cycle have gravitated toward those candidates with conservative ideas and records, as opposed to the "20% conservative with electability".
Perhaps the voters are really feeling the leftist "knife at their throat".

Romney is an exception to that rule. He has to be taken out or he will destroy everyone else in the race until he does.Based on what? He certainly didn't "destroy" everyone else in the race in 2007/2008. He is behind in virtually every poll. He hasn't been able to improve his poll numbers even though he's been running for years. I just don't see what the fear is based on. It looks to me like any strong conservative candidate will roll over him.

His campaign put out smears on Palin after he was already out and McCain had the nomination. He knew if they won in 08 he was finished for ever running again.

Poll results at this point only reflect the media influence and we all know what that has been. Poll results are also a direct result of the “special sauce” applied by the pollster. I’ll worry more about the polls in December.
