Young men in Japan facing difficulties landing full-time jobs in these tough economic times are also struggling to find women to marry.
Single women say they prefer older men for marriage because they are more mature, are confident in making decisions?and offer financial security.
Recent celebrity marriages involving much younger spouses have been in the news. But a small party one Friday evening in Tokyo's Ginza district for 10 people seeking marriage partners show the trend is spreading among ordinary Japanese.
The five women who attended were between 22 and 28 while the five men were between 35 and 48.
The age difference was obvious. The women wore miniskirts and had on fake eyelashes that clearly showed off their youth. The men wore attire that showed they put some thought into their choices.
One of the participants, Yumika Masuko, a 24-year-old dance instructor, said the men she knew who were of the same age appeared "childish" and not marriage material.

Nothing says “marry me” quite like 20 something Strawberry Shortcakes.
“I actually had to reread the article yesterday to make sure I got it right, yup, tried to steal money from her husband, who is pretty well off, and then files for divorce and gets a 10K a month settlement. I told my wife, I now see why some guys go the 9mm route rather than going to a rigged against them court system.”
...or vow to never marry a women born in this country, so they don’t have to deal with the divorce culture we have.
And then he wonders how he ended up getting taken to the cleaners by her attorney ...
Their little knees look cold.
Heaven help us if ‘this’ look visits our shores. Boobbelts were one thing...but who can’t imagine Lady O sporting size 14 magenta Uggs?
YUCK, who wants an old prune in bed next to you. EWWWW. No thanks.
May be there’s hope for me!
The media would say she’s a glamour icon, just bet on it!
Aren’t Furries a 20s to 30s fashion trend?
From Japan.
Actress Meisa Kuroki
Calling your attention (ahem!) to post 30. ;-)
Yikes!
We’ve found “Gaki no Tsukai” and that is one of the things that I commented about to my hubby. I can’t even imagine American stars going through what those guys do.
In fact, I heard that MTV has picked up their Silent Library sequence and instead of the swats and ass cotton, more often than not they have to eat strange things. LAME.
Beautiful girl, very well-done makeup and nails.

Oh please.
How about skipping the trophy wife and you don’t get burned?
Sssssssh, you’re not supposed to notice that men’s stupid decisions to marry “hot” girls who put out before marriage sometimes produce bad results. You’re supposed to agree it’s all the woman’s fault.
Btw, has anyone noticed that legislatures and the judiciary are composed of a substantial majority of men? So who’s responsible for the legal climate, again?
It cracks me up to see some pathetic old man on an ego trip because he has some trophy wife on his arm.
It's not you she wants, you dummy, it's your money!
Exactly!!!
So, what’s the trend with Japanese women going after gaijin men? Not that I could, but I’m just curious. I had a few incidents while over there that the Mrs. didn’t like but I explained them away as a level of courtesy and politeness that we’re not used to (my wife is from NYC). The Mrs. didn’t buy it saying ‘oh yeah?, so why men aren’t nearly as nice to you, eh?’.
Okamoto Natsuki’s still looking good in her mid-40s, more age-appropriate!
My wife and I were arguing the other day, and she finally muttered, "all you men care about is money and sex!"
My reply: "Soooooo, what's your point?"
I'm ready for the next time...i.e. if #2 is taken care of, #1 is no issue. lol
