Oh, my!

It looks as though Texans really love their governor so much, they don’t want him to move to the White House.

So let me get this straight. The "frontrunner" is currently running a distant 4th in the largest Republican state.

Seriously, media?

My friend is a die hard Texan and picks Cain over Perry, too.

I had been wondering if the Cain surge seen in many (but not all) recent polls was real.

So I guessed that a ballpark confirmation could be done using this Texas poll, plus the six STATE polls that came this week. One could guess those might represent the country as a whole pretty well, since it included TWO super liberal BLUE states (NH and HI) four battleground purple states ( IA OH FL SC) and one red state (TX)
If anything, the rest of the country might even lean MORE toward Cain as a whole.

I averaged these latest state polls, as follows:

Sample  Cain  Romney Gingrich Paul Perry Bachman Huntsman Santorum Spread
U.S. COMPOSITE 2606 RV 30.7 22.2 9.1 8.5 7.7 5.2 2.0 unknown Cain +8.5
TX 844 RV 33 7 5 19 18 1 3 1 Cain +14
OH 500 RV 34 19 14 7 5 6 1 1 Cain +15
HI 293 RV 36 24 8 4 8 6 1 1 Cain +12
SC 476 RV 32 16 8 6 12 6 1 NotAsked Cain +16
FL 505 RV 30.2 32.6 11.7 2.7 2.9 1.6 2 NotAsked Romney +2.4
IA 422 RV 26 18 12 10 6 11 1 NotAsked Cain +8
NH 409 RV 24 39 5 11 2 5 5 NotAsked Romney +15

Sample  Cain  Romney Gingrich Paul Perry Bachman Huntsman Santorum
U.S. ZOGBY 1214 RV 45 21 6 8 7 1 3 3

I also show Zogby for comparison.... RealClearPolitics does not like them because they are an online poll.
But It looks like, for some reason, there are 10% fewer 'undecided's with the online Zogby. So it might even be more accurate than the telephone polls?

I also show a weighted 4-poll rolling average of recent national polls which also shows trend results similar to the 'composite' above.

Weighted 4-Poll Rolling Averages of the latest 20+ Polls listed at RCP [as of Oct 17]
plus the "YouGov" poll inserted chronologically

Perry had to be taken out. All Cain ever wanted was to run interference for his friend, Mitt Romney. From the beginning, he was auditioning for VP, even said so. Anyone who wants him has to take Romney on top which will negate all Cain’s “when I’m President, I will fry Mexicans, etc. “ The catchy 9-9-9 battle cry will be silenced evermore. Probably the only way Romney wins that evangelical vote is with Cain by his side. I’ve said that since day one. Somehow I knew Fox had decided early on. Hume all but shut the door on everyone else. . I’m sticking with Perry because I believe in him. If he decides to leave the race, I’ll go with a rejuvenated Newt Gingrich. I hate political wrestling. I never liked tag teams even though I like the individuals okay. I’ll vote for the Republican ticket even though Romney is no conservative....and I don’t think Cain minds that.

Cain’s numbers don’t surprise me...

But Paul??? Beating Perry in his own state???

Folks... add Cain’s numbers to Pauls numbers....

What does that tell you about how happy Texans are with Perry???

No offense but this poll is not scientifically based from a strict standard of statistics.

Secondly, they spell Jon Huntsman's name wrong making me believe these are probably college students doing a project for Poly Sci 101...

And for the record I am a Herman Cain supporter and have been getting petitions signed in IL for Cain to get him on the ballot thanks to Romney and Perry moving all the primaries up. So please don't attack me as a RINO supporter.

Just coming at this as a pure scientific observer that this poll is as legitimate as if I asked my dog who she supported in the primary. She'd even probably get Huntsman's name right.

Wow, I can't believe this poll is STILL here. Again, it's a Paulbot outfit:

What I found next would greatly suggest to me that Azimuth Research Group and Azimuth Polls exist to as a propaganda arm for Ron Paul, even if indirectly by his supporters. I am not sure how much Ron Paul knows about the poll in the blog he tweeted to his followers, but I found out some rather interesting information about them. The domain azimuthpolls.com is registered to Dave Nalle of Austin, TX. But who is Dave Nalle? Dave Nalle is a Ron Paul supporter and is Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus, a group that promotes Libertarianism within the Republican Party. In fact, if you go there, you’ll see an article written by Dave Nalle entitled “Don’t Believe the Hype. Meet the Real Rick Perry.” The RLC also endorses just one current elected official that is running for president. Any guess as to who that is? Yup. Ron Paul. You can also find a great many posts by Nalle which stakes out a lot of which you can hear from Rep. Paul.
