Highschoolers horrified at gay male kiss in school play, while officials praise exposure

HARTFORD, October 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.coom) - Several students at a Hartford high school expressed horror and left the auditorium when two male members of a city-funded school play shared a passionate kiss onstage on Friday. School officials said they opted against informing parents about the event ahead of time, saying that the students needed exposure to homosexuality, and hailed the “chaotic” reaction as a victory for raising the gay issue.

The kiss occurred during Hartford Public High School’s production of “Zanna, Don’t!,” a play depicting a world in which homosexuality is normative and heterosexuals take up the role of “outcasts.”

The Hartford Courant reported that “screams and loud voices” and sounds of disgust came from the audience during the display of affection, while “dozens” of mostly male students left the auditorium. While some trickled back in, officials had to prevent many from leaving the school building.

School officials had told students that homosexual displays of affection would be featured in the play, and many asked to be excused. One school official cited by The Courant, nursing academy principal David Chambers, said that he had considered sending an opt-out letter to parents before changing his mind. The school reportedly received a number of phone calls from parents following the incident.

The play, available to students free of charge, was a joint effort between Connecticut gay youth group True Colors and a local youth leadership program, and was funded in part by the city of Hartford.

Chambers said that students needed to learn empathy towards homosexuals and exposure to things that would make them uncomfortable. “Our kids are not there yet,” he said. Chambers also suggested that the reaction of disgust was a good sign, indicating a release of students’ inner conflict about homosexuality.

“Even though it’s kind of chaotic, kind of wild and crazy, I see it as very successful,” he said, according to The Courant. “Our kids never deal with this, they keep it inside, and that’s that nervous energy. That’s why they walked out.”

Adam Johnson, principal of Hartford High’s Law and Government Academy, agreed. “This is as important of a topic to discuss as anything in math, anything in social studies,” Johnson said. “I’m completely glad that we did it.”

The Family Institute of Connecticut (FIC) condemned the scandal, and called for a protest of the school’s decision, calling it “an outrageous attack on parental rights.”

FIC notes that a bill introduced earlier this year by Republican Sen. Kevin Witkos, which would have mandated that parents be allowed to opt out their children from sexuality instruction in schools, was never given a public hearing. “We will fight for it again next year and every year until it is passed,” said the group.

Same-sex “marriage” was imposed on Connecticut by the state’s Supreme Court in 2008, three years after granting “all-but-marriage” civil unions for homosexual couples.

Since Chambers thinks “a release of students’ inner conflict about homosexuality” is good, why not make a play educating the public on the destructiveness of the LGBT lifestyle? That will sure elicit that “reaction of disgust” which he thinks is “a good sign.” The play would be nonfiction, too!

And speaking of destructiveness, let the students know that the large majority of serial killers were homosexuals. Too, let them know that statistically homosexuals have the higher rate of suicides when the enormity of their sinful life sinks in!

Who’s really shocked or surprised? Everybody was told that the play was gay. Oh heavens, a smooch! Yeah, color me a little cynical, and stuff like this really has no place in schools anyhow.

And this world dies out in a generation except for the few hardy straights, and then almost everybody is straight. Except they didn't bother depicting that.

Every one of those stupid, ignorant, assinine school officials should be fired, whipped down main street and run out of town.

“... that’s nervous energy. That’s why they walked out”.

No, they walked out because of disgust. It isn’t “nervous energy”. No different from an incident last week at my son’s Homecoming Dance where two boys were “passionately” kissing. Many heterosexual boys got sick to their stomachs (one actually threw up). They weren’t sickened because of nervous energy... they were sickened because deep down inside this is wrong. Just a thought.

Disgusting. All school administrative officials in favor of this must be fired and permanently banned from public education. This IS becoming the problem in the nation second only to illegal immigration.

The day is coming (and probably soon) when perverts like this chambers guy will just be shot by decent people defending their kids. And none of the rest of us will be bothered by it at all.

Someone has to start taking the trash out

Obama's (former) "Safe School Czar" Kevin
"use a condom" Jennings
__________________________________________________________

From the Washington Times...

EDITORIAL: At the president's pleasure
'Safe school czar' encouraged child sex with an older man
September 28, 2009

A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar". It's getting hard to keep track of all of this president's problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.

In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.

According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings' defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.

However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."

Mr. Jennings' denials about these events reveal a lack of remorse. He has not admitted that he made mistakes in this case, and he now refuses to answer any questions about the scandal. Don't forget, this is a presidential appointee we're talking about. Mr. Obama should make clear what his standards are for public servants serving at the pleasure of the president. Encouraging and covering up man-boy sexual activity are serious offenses. The White House should force Mr. Jennings to come clean.

First time I ever saw two grown men kiss deeply I nearly lost my lunch right there and then.

This was way back in the 70’s, long before it was fashionable or even talked about with a young teenager. No one brainwashed me into thinking it was either right or wrong before then either, it was just an instant gut reaction to what I’d seen.

I’d have stormed out of that gym as well, but back then every guy I know, and every girl also, would have been racing me to the doors.

It could have been worse. It could have included Bible reading, praying, and the pledge of alligence to the flag of the United States.

They are pushing the gay agenda on kids full speed ahead. We are seeing more and more young gay people who are being brainwashed into thinking it’s cool. Parents across the country are the only ones who can stop this madness.

If the teachers pulled this crap on me, that would have been the last school play I attended, mandatory or not.

Its worth a note that children have to be taught to accept homosexuality, because it naturally nauseates them.

In ten years, they will find the rejection of pedophilia to be intolerant. If little Bobby turns down the homosexual advances of his P.E. teacher, he'll be expelled and charged with a hate crime.

The slippery slope was several miles back. We are in free fall right now.

This is why our children are not being educated...too much social engineering going on in our public schools and we are paying for it literally and figuratively! If I were a parent or taxpayer in that city, I would be outraged!

I fear that only blood in the streets will stop the madness..We live in hedonistic times where children are not allowed a childhood..The emphasis on sex of all kinds is everywhere. It is a wonder such an animalistic society can function at all. At some point, most people are going to rebel against all this..The queston is, when?
