After Palin, I've been leaning towards Cain. My only problem with him is that he's much more comfortable attacking Perry than Romney.
I'm no fan of the bumbling debator from Texas who says his base has no heart, but this cozying up to Romney by Cain is concerning.
Herman Cain remains my favorite, but he needs to show he's not running for VP. He needs to go after Romney on Romneycare tonight. If he doesn't, it may be time to look elsewhere.
The one thing Rick Perry has going for him is that he's shown he's not afraid to take it to Romney, something all of the other candidates have been hesitant to do.
Hahaha. You don't really believe that horse-sh-- do you? Perry will leave a governership for a VP spot for someone he despises, and where he's the ONLY guy challenging Romney? Nice try
Yep, I think Bachman would have wise to follow this policy too before her campaign took on so much water.
I'm not so sure about that. Romney's selling point has always been that he's a successful businessman who knows how the economy works and can get it doing again. But Cain can claim the same mantle.
Cain doesn't have the organization on the ground, but this is going to be a very unusual primary season because there are so many people who don't like one or the other frontrunner.
I'll be blunt. I was a Daniels supporter (which I know makes me a RINO establishment guys in the eyes of some here), but he chose not to run. After Perry's performances, I was becoming resigned to Romney being the nominee, and unlike some others here, I would vote for him over Obama despite misgivings.
But Cain is growing on me. Perry/Romney is a tough choice for me, but Cain/Romney is becoming a pretty easy one.
Actually Cain would be smart to stick to issues and avoid paying any attention to any of the other candidates other then 0.
Republicans and Conservatives want people who will lead and focus on the Dems. They really are not at all interested in GOP candidates trashing each other. Cain is smart to stay out of the mud.
And NO he did not “attack Perry”. He answered a question honestly. One of the down sides of having an honest man in the race is he is going to tell you things you do NOT want to hear from time to time.
One of the major reasons Cain is doing so well is he stays out of the stupid politics as usual smear game and focuses on solutions.
Perry v Romney is more of the same stupid political theater that got us in this mess in the 1st place.
(been) wise
Until and unless big money starts to make it's way to Cain, Romney won't see him as a serious threat, no matter what the polls say, so he'll say nice things about Cain. Cain is taking support from Perry and not from Romney. And Cain has made it clear he's willing to be Romney's VP.
Not really that hard to figure out.
I have no problem with Cain philosophically, I just want him fully vetted. And until one of the other candidates sees him as a credible threat for the top spot, it won't happen.
I will have to agree that Cain does not seem to like Perry.
Why? I don’t know. Maybe he knows something we don’t know, maybe he doesn’t like his haircut, or maybe there was some incident between them in private.
Of course, I understand there is bad blood between George Bush and Perry as well, so it doesn’t seem like Cain is out there by himself on this one.
really, how is this post promoting Perry? I’m not a fan of sycophants no matter who their candidate is.
That they do - you know, I’ve never seem them called “cainbots”. Reconciling myself to a Romney v. Obama race . . .
Thanks Marie! I appreciate your taking the time to research! Wish other people would do the same before spouting off :)
Herman Cain isn’t on a VP bid. He’s just a brilliant man who’s running for President who doesn’t have very much money. Thank about it. You need money to campaign. What better way to get around the nation and spread your message then to put out a book and let a book publisher pay your way? Brilliant!
And now he’s getting his message out.... one book signing at a time. And it’s paid for by the publisher.
I want a man who watches money that close to watch out for our money as President.
What does the GOP establshment and the obama campaign have in common? They both want romney as GOP nominee.
romney sucks.
He won’t attack Romney because they have an alliance. Cain knows the establishment won’t approve him to he is going to be Romney’s VP. Saw this one coming when they all ganged up on Perry.
ROmney is not the enemy. Democrats are..............Remember Reagans 11th Commandment. There was a reason for it......Of Romney gets the nomination, I will work to defeat him in November.
If Cain had financial backing, he would be spending it. He’s not doing this tour on his publisher’s dime because he wants to. He’s doing it because he has to. Your naive glorification and idealizing of this inexperienced candidate — a good and decent man with a good record in the business world, no doubt — is going to get us a Romney nomination.
I remain wary of Cain until he can show that he understands that Mitt Romney is no better than most Democrats. Unless and until he does that, I remain a lukewarm supporter.
Cain is running even with Mitt. Hopefully, he’ll keep the recent momentum and leave Mittens in his dust. Don’t fix what’s not broken.
How can you be taken seriously when you have a Perry/Rubio ticket as your sig? Rubio has outright stated he is not going for VP. Have I missed a recent change to his stance?
GOPbots? Who is that aimed at?
