After Palin, I've been leaning towards Cain. My only problem with him is that he's much more comfortable attacking Perry than Romney.
I'm no fan of the bumbling debator from Texas who says his base has no heart, but this cozying up to Romney by Cain is concerning.
Herman Cain remains my favorite, but he needs to show he's not running for VP. He needs to go after Romney on Romneycare tonight. If he doesn't, it may be time to look elsewhere.
The one thing Rick Perry has going for him is that he's shown he's not afraid to take it to Romney, something all of the other candidates have been hesitant to do.
“Perry is Romneys VP.”
Romney and Perry are two guys sitting adrift in a small boat on a conservative sea. Neither has a paddle, or oar. There is no wind in their boat’s sails.
Each of them thinks he is steering.
Perry doesn't need to be Romney's VP. He has already said he has had the blessing of having one of the best jobs ever, that of being a state governor, and there is no need for him to try to move up some ladder. Furthermore, he's not in for personal promotion, and he has never made a big deal about his book, so he's not looking for a higher national status for consulting fees or higher speech fees, or immediate money either.
He's in to guide our government back to a Constitutionally balanced system and towards local control, and he wouldn't get that done with Romney.
If the country decided they wanted something other than the kind of leadership Rick Perry would offer, I'm pretty confident Governor Perry would opt for something different than a VP slot.
You PerryBots just keep cut-and-pasting responses.
Jeez, at least change the wording a bit when you reply to multiple posters.
But then again, who thought Perry backers think for themselves?
Never mind, just keep it up with the Perry drivel. He’s a discredited candidate.
He performance at the debates (positions on illegals/vaccines, etc) finished him.
Herman Cain wiped the floor with that nasty lawrence o'donnell LOL
Well I fail to see where any of this goes. It’s looking like Romney vs. Obama which translates to another term of obama. If you think the elite establishment republicans are going to let Cain get the nomination, you’re delusional. Tonight’s debate is pure theater. It’s going to be a Romney/Cain ticket. They’re both tied in the polls, yet they are not attacking each other. Why is that? Their ticket is prearranged.
“What does Perry need but a chance to perform on the National stage and be “President in waiting” so he can be President in fact 8 years from now.”
Your analysis breaks down here. In eight years Perry will be close to 70 years old. Not a viable candidate for a national office at that age. Just saying,,,,,,
Quit messing things up with facts !!
Romney must be pretty bad for you to want another four years of Obamugabe..............
In my head, it's "Cainiacs", but I never do name calling on here.
Herman Cain will fight when he is attacked. Just watch that video I posted if you don’t think he can fight back. He will, when he is attacked.
Who knows. These things are never as simple as they seem. Often times, the best way to handle a candidate like Romney is to ignore him and focus on other rivals as though he didn’t even exist. Other candidates in previous elections have been successfully marginalized in exactly that manner. Will it be successful this time around? Who knows.
What I can tell you, and historically a lot of FReepers haven’t grasped this: Negative campaigns often backfire, even when the attacks are warranted. Outside of FR where bellicosity is more readily accepted, people like nice guys. Candidates get more mileage out of kissing babies than slamming their opponents.
I’ll have to watch that, I haven’t seen it yet. I love the video that’s going around with him at the Clinton townhall. He just shredded Clinton to pieces.
“... Ive been watching many of these threads, and the anti-Perry vs anti-Cain posts are 20-1.”
Thats funny! There’s not many anti-Cain posts because there is not much not to like about him, while Perry is dripping with reasons to be sceptical about his viability as a candidate.
It’s not relative popularity either, as Cain has just now surpassed Perry in the latest polls.....
FWIW The only personal attacks I have ever gotten on these threads have been by Perry supporters....the same ones that constantly complain about their, and their favorite candidate being attacked, while they attempt to hijack a thread about another candidate. Boy, talk about projection! There is something seriously wrong with many Perry supporter’s thought process.
Mittens is the weakest in the field, although he appears strong because of his poll numbers, but he has been campaigning for president for many many years, and has the support of his fellow RINO’s (soon to be extinct), those current numbers are inflated and will subside real quick, once Cain has crushed the the other competitors.
The thread was about Herman Cain, it’s titled “Why won’t Cain attack Romney? (vanity)”
A thread asking a question about Herman Cain is going to draw posters like myself who like him.
Amen. Attack Obama. Not Romney, Cain or Perry.
Cain is a businessman. Its one of the reasons I like him. Romney is also a businessman. I would vote for Cain over Romney, but if Romney is the nominee, I will easily vote for him over Obama.
Well said.
