Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann dodged questions Sunday whether Romney is a Christian. The issue arose during the just-completed Values Voters Summit in Washington, exposing tensions among evangelicals over Romney's religious faith, as we reported today. Dallas Baptist pastor Robert Jeffress kicked things off by endorsing Rick Perry and declaring that Mormonism is a cult and Romney is not a Christian.
Speakers went back and forth on the issue -- and Romney himself weighed in, denouncing "poisonous speech" that doesn't help the nominating process. Asked about Jeffress' comments, Perry said he doesn't believe Mormonism is a cult.

Isnt that why you keep goats ???
:)
I never said they did have a corner on liberty. AFA souls, well that we do have a corner on - it’s called the Great Comission.
But if you aren’t a Christian then, I guess it wouldn’t matter to you.
Either way Romney IS Obama - just paler.
LOL. We just had a couple of inches of rain. Gonna slow down harvest here. :(
Yep, kinda blows the ‘they are the strongest conservatives’ argument out of the water, don’t it?
It’s always funny and telling when “Christians” make a point of denying the Christianity of others.
Not quite as amusing as those who think all that's required be a Christian is hanging a sign on your meeting place with the name "Jesus Christ" on it somewhere. I guess when Christ and the apostles warned us against false Christs, false prophets and false gospels to come, they were just vamping. And when I think about those nutty Bereans...
Non sequitur.
Nobody made a point of "denying the Christianity of others."
Only God knows a man's heart...
Well, Mormons aren’t Christians. I know that from firsthand experience.
I never said you weren’t a Christian, did I?
LOL. Good post!
They’d be the size of the BARN if they ate THAT many leaves!
Not NEAR as 'funny' as Salt Lake City 'MORMONs' claiming that ONLY they can be called MORMON!
*The following is a letter from Elder Lance B. Wickman, General Counsel of the Church to publishers of major newspapers, TV stations and magazines. It was sent out on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
Recent events have focused the media spotlight on a polygamous sect near San Angelo, Texas, calling itself the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As you probably know, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely no affiliation with this polygamous sect. Decades ago, the founders of that sect rejected the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were excommunicated, and then started their own religion. To the best of our knowledge, no one at the Texas compound has ever been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Unfortunately, however, some of the media coverage of the recent events in Texas has caused members of the public to confuse the doctrines and members of that group and our church. We have received numerous inquiries from confused members of the public who, by listening to less than careful media reports, have come to a grave misunderstanding about our respective doctrines and faith. Based on these media reports many have erroneously concluded that there is some affiliation between the two or even worse, that they are one and the same.
Over the years, in a careful effort to distinguish itself, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has gone to significant lengths to protect its rights in the name of the church and related matters. Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mormon, Book of Mormon and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.
We are confident that you are committed to avoiding misleading statements that cause unwarranted confusion and that may disparage or infringe the intellectual property rights discussed above. Accordingly, we respectfully request the following:
Stated simply, we would like to be known and recognized for whom we are and what we believe, and not be inaccurately associated with beliefs and practices that we condemn in the strongest terms. We would be grateful if you could circulate or copy this letter to your editorial staff and to your legal counsel.
We thank you for your consideration of these important matters.
Sincerely,
Lance B. Wickman
General Counsel

Well now R...
Thats debatable...
Barry keeps getting paler (Thats a good thing according to Mormon doctrine)
While Willie Mitty keeps getting DARKER (Oh dear thats not good))
Either way they are brothers under the skin
They are both Mormons because of their Moms...
Anyhoo somewhere they meet in the middle...
:)
LOL
I'm caring less and less about Perry every time he opens his mouth.
Hi Nana, how ya been?
Great
Hows ya little self ???
:)
bttt
Oh ok, been having some fun with a ‘street preacher’ who isn’t really saved. He accused me of being ‘masculine’ and ‘rebellious’ and of course the usual ‘insecure’ ‘not Christian’ etc.
Your sentence above SHOULD read: "It is telling the truth when Christians [without the quote marks] make a point of denying the "Christianity" of others who aren't Christian.
Be happy with what you are, but don't try to hijack our name.
Be happy with what you are, but don’t try to hijack our name.
- - - -
And that is the real issue for most Christians. Mormons can practice their faith, but don’t go around claiming you are Christians all of a sudden (they didn’t used to say that - they used to have harsh words about ‘Christians’) and then turn around and bad mouth all Christians and claim you (the LDS) are the only ‘true’ Christians.
They especially hate ‘gracers’ (their word for Evangelicals).
