Want Palin Back? She's Already Here!

Posted on 10/07/2011 4:33:31 AM PDT by reasonisfaith

Yes--the leftist psychopaths, from Soros to Ayers and all the mind-numbed robots in their wake, have made a virtual martyr of Sarah Palin.

>> I offer an honest suggestion:
>> Let’s stop talking about Palin.

There's nothing counterproductive in reasonisfaith's post.

Seems like a "keep-the-faith without dependency" argument underscoring what she and all of us always said was the most important anyway—the principles of our Constitution.

Rush used the greatness of the late Steve Jobs as a proxy for discussing greatness, what makes a person great. Rush pointedly refused on his Thursday Steve Jobs memorial show or his open line Friday show anything to do with Palin’s withdrawal.

Job’s was removed from the arena where the great battle between the great and those trying to great by death. Palin, a great person, at least until Wednesday, was removed from the same arena by her own choice.

Which person was worth Rush’s time to discuss?

Of course I know what I am trying to say. What I say gets heard, and even understood by all.

Yet I also know folks deny having heard what they have heard all the time. And also that not every conscious speaking mind is subtle or wise enough to get every nuance, but they do get some part of it.

It’s like an adult talking to a a few weeks or months old new born in the crib. You know the babe understands NOTHING. Yet, magically, they “wake up” one day, who knows what day that is, but it comes and after that the child becoming a fellow adult understands EVERYTHING.

Principles only matter if you do something with them. You know, like have the electoral power to trim government and make it fit back inside it's Constitutional chains...

Sarah abdicated her chance at that. So now, like hundreds of other conservative pundits, she is only a voice instead.

Sorry you are having such a hard time understanding the massive difference between being a spokesmouth and actually being able to something effective.

Why do I always seem to run afoul of FR's "Short bus" trolls.

This is an admission on your part that you think the role of government is to fix our problems.

Well, no... You insignificant insect. The role SARAH was supposed to play was to FIX the problems with the GOVERNMENT and restore it to its Constitutional limits. Her "principles" mean no more than anyone else's now. She can sit on the sidelines and chatter about how she thinks things should be done, but she will have no DIRECT power to actually affect that change.

You are a liberal progressive, or you just don’t understand things very well.

I've been called a lot of things in my almost 13 years on FR, that's a new one. If it wasn't just so stupid on it's face, I'd be tempted to come up with a properly scathing response. As it is, you literally aren't worth the effort.

Run along now and let the adults talk.

If you understand the difference between the deed and the doer, you’ll know that the name Steve Jobs is insignificant.

This becomes more difficult with fame, because the person increasingly identifies with their own fame. In other words, they begin to worship themselves. And anyone who doesn’t pay them homage becomes, in their eyes, the enemy.

Palin exemplifies the best of the best, because she declined from seeking the greatest political power. Meanwhile the principles she helped elevate are at their most prominent, because of her work.

I didn’t mean to upset you. But you really should take a look at what you said earlier:

“Principles only count in politics if you have been elected to office and are using your elected power in accordance with those principles.”

This shows us you believe that unelected individuals—otherwise known as We the People—can do nothing to help the country and that only government get anything done.

The claim is false, and one of our country’s biggest problems is that so many people have fallen for it. Please reconsider.

But to “do something with them” is not limited to action as an elected official or some sort of bureaucrat.

If you’re an honest conservative, you can only agree with this point. Unless I’ve overlooked something, in which case I’m happy to hear you explain it.

I respectfully point out that my comments on this thread reflect my understanding of only one person: Rush Limbaugh. They do not reflect my any of my own understandings of Sarah Palin, or Steve Jobs.

In general I do not agree with "great man" theories, although they make wonderful tales. The phenomenon you refer to: that fame gathers the famous in its clutches, I think more represents that you haven't been famous yet and thus speak too trivially of it, and the relationship of person, soul, persona and fame.

Really, you don’t know whether or to what degree I might or might not have been “famous.” Remember, your logic is entirely dependent on your premise. But thanks for the good will inherent in your assumption that I have never been stricken with fame.

Regardless of whether or not you have any information about my personal life, I would say it’s very easily understood logically and very widely recognized empirically that fame cultivates and expands narcissistic traits.

If you have the opportunity to observe “famous” people up close, focus carefully on their behavior.

And if you ever have the chance to choose between a life of fame and one of anonimity, for your own sake choose the latter.

Again—Palin exemplifies the best of the best, because she declined from seeking the greatest political power (remember General Maximus in The Gladiator?). And the principles Palin helped elevate are in the forefront of the presidential primaries, because of her work.

This shows us you believe that unelected individuals...

We vote. That is what it means to live in a Representative Republic. Those we vote for are given few and specific powers. That system is out of whack and only someone elected to office can affect those changes barring an outright insurrection.

Go back to school... You missed a few things.

I’m happy to hear you explain it.

No. You aren't. You are completely tone deaf.

All of our Nations problems right now stem from too much Government. If you think you can just be "principled" in your life, and expect those unprincipled folks in government to leave you alone, then you are not only tone deaf but completely off your rocker.

Giving good interview and writing kitschy op-eds isn't how we will go about fixing what is currently broken with our Government. We either vote in real conservatives or we drop the pretense of "playing by the rules" and we take up arms.

I'm all for the second option there. I have zero faith in the system and people like you are part of the reason why...

You should get your story straight. First you say that government is the only way to fix our problems and then you say our problems come from too much government.

You fear the uncertainty of making a specific, declarative statement related to the topic of this post and standing by it.

As I stated earlier, the anti-Palin left has succeeded in martyring Palin’s candidacy and replacing her candidacy with that which she and all of us have always said were the most important anyway—the principles of our Constitution.

Moron, I said we need real conservatives elected to office. That sitting on the sidelines does nothing to affect real change.

All of our current problems stem from too much government. Without people willing to fix the system from within, our only recourse is to burn it all down from without.

I’m ok with that, but I’m an extremist...

Reason is missing when one replaces it with a wishful faith.

I used “wishful” because “foolish” is harsh.
