I don’t see any problem in shuttering both and many other unconstitutional agencies if we have a conservative constitutionalist president and congress willing to do so.

Herman Cain spoke of an attitude adjustment for the EPA, following that with incentives to develop domestic oil, i.e., drill baby drill.

Were Herman Cain to bring along Sarah Palin as vice president or Secretary of Energy, it's all good.

The establishment took a blow to its solar plexus when Chris Christie opted to finish his sandwich.

He's about as conservative as Romney.

Cain, or in the alternative, Perry, working in concert for the American Republic at the time of its existential crisis can beat Romney and Obama.

And I would think Michelle Bachmann could best serve that cause by staying in the House, taking Boehner's job so he can golf more and compromise less.

The polling reflected the preferences in two different questions, one that included Governor Palin as an option, and one that did not. The results were astonishing. With Governor Palin out of the race, Herman Cain took it in a landslide:

As far as the border fence goes, it was explained that the border is river, and to put the fence all the way across the state would wall off Texas ranches so they couldn't water their stock. Not to practical in some places.

As a very outspoken border fence advocate, as much as I hate to admit it, this is a salient point. It is a terrible desert, and cows need water (not to mention wildlife). But how do we guarantee ongoing defense without it? electronic surveillance is wiped out by defunding it... the stroke of a pen and it is gone. Boots on the ground - same thing... been there done that.

Maybe I would trust them more if 'boots on the ground' included a few bases - Once installed, there is a certain economy around bases which cause them to be hard to close... Move the desert warfare guys down there permanently... Maybe then there would be lasting boots on the ground.

Very true. I see good things in him. We know that he doesn't have foreign policy experience, but frankly I think all of the candidates would be getting briefed on this as there is much that isn't told to those that are not 'in the loop' so to speak. Obama had to be briefed on this as well. Last night on Red Eye Cain said he would take a hard stand against Iran and make sure they knew that if they did anything to any of our allies that he would retaliate.

Michigan has a border with Canada that is also a river, right down the middle of the river. There is no way you could put up a fence there.

Neither side would want to wall themselves off from river access and put it on their side, and there is no way to put one down the middle of a river.

Now, Canada isn't Mexico, but it is still the same problem of a river border.

Michigan has a border with Canada that is also a river, right down the middle of the river. There is no way you could put up a fence there.

Michigan's border with Canada is mostly the Great Lakes, but that only reinforces your point. They are talking about a border fence on the northern border, when really the two places they cannot control (the Great Lakes and the Rockies) with a fence completely negate the purpose of a fence. All of the smuggling and alien entry is through those places anyway.

But, we are left with the very same issue: How to get real border control outta these chooches?

Cain/Rubio would be a strong ticket.

If Cain is to be the nominee, he'll need a senior Republican household name on the ticket with him, preferably someone with long service in the Senate for "gravitas". (Last time that word got tossed around a lot was when the MediaRats were talking GOP Establishmentarians into backing Dole -- and then sniggering all the way to the bank as the Stupid Party fell for it.)

I'm also doubtful about Rubio's citizenship status. I think he may not be the constitutional "natural-born citizen" that Article II requires of the Presidency.

She's the one I was looking to, to clean out the Augean stables that are the upper reaches of the Gay Oldmoney Party. None of the others, I think, will kill that octopus. And that includes Cain, about whom I have fears that he will be sucked in and chewed up like a graduation-dance ingenue. I mean, I hope not, but that's what I think right now.

We can always pray for unexpected Good Surprises later -- a brokered convention, for example. Can you imagine what that would be like, with a deadlocked convention and the MSM gloating and high-fiving their little Stalinist shower-buddies in their skyboxes?
