Obama policy setting troop killers free in Iraq
The Washington Examiner ^ | October 3, 2012 | SeekTheTruth

If a cop and a promising student were gunned down and the shooter was caught, only to be freed after four years, the outrage would be palpable. Politicos would fall all over themselves to register their indignation and the press would be on it for weeks.

It happened in the case of New York State Trooper John McKenna and Pace University law student Michael Glover, who were serving in Iraq with the Marine Corps Reserve. Yet this story is virtually unknown, even though the injustice is enormous and systemic.

Five years ago, Lance Cpl. Glover, having put a scholarship on hold to volunteer for combat duty in Iraq, was the pointman on a patrol outside of Fallujah when he was killed by a sniper's bullet. Capt. McKenna, Glover's platoon commander, earned a posthumous Silver Star for giving his life in an attempt to save Glover.

Months later, U.S. troops captured their killer, Muhammad Awwad Ahmad. Recently, the families of the fallen learned from the Defense Department U.S. forces turned Ahmad over to Iraqi authorities in June 2010, and that an Iraqi court set him free four months later.

Since this past Monday when I started this thread, I have pinged my Freeper lists for every state in the US in hopes that at least a few Freeper friends in each state will take the time to make some phone calls in support of our troops.
I know from replies I have received here on the thread and through FreepMail that many Freepers are joining us in making calls and sending emails to their Representatives.

Thanks to all Freepers everywhere for making that call to Congressman McKeon’s office at 202-225-1956 and to the office of your own member of Congress. This link is a good one to keep handy for phone calling action!

We must demand they hold Congressional Hearings now on the Obama “Catch & Release” policy. Right now, this government is letting terrorists go free to kill again, and keeping Michael Behanna in Leavenworth for killing a terrorist in self defense! For those who do not know about Michael please take some time to read here:

Thanks for the ping. For this parent of a military member I truly appreciate your support.

I called McKeon’s office. I was also told that quite a number of calls had reached them. Not only that, but he also referred me to the Armed Services Committee office as well and advised me to register my comment with them as well on this topic.

House Armed Services Committee:
202-225-4151

The Armed Svc Committee phone answerer also told me they were getting quite a number of calls!

Keep ‘em coming!

AND NOW THIS!

Please call your Congressman and Senator and ask why Obama’s Dept.Of Defense is instructing Military to do things which are against the law. This is in direct violation of the law!

Thank you to your family member for their service, and thank you for your service too. I know when one member of a family serves our country, in reality, the whole family serves. God Bless.

Please take a stand for our troops! Sadr has threatened the lives of any American Soldiers left in Iraq after the withdrawal in December.

Here is a story from May 2010 when the practice before releasing the terrorists was to have them sign a pledge also signed by their elders. Having them sign a pledge didn't work, so now they are just released. And of course, they always return to battle to kill our troops again.

That's Obama’s “Catch and Release” policy!

Keep the cameras rolling! Makes for great film to show the world the nuts who follow Obama and his gang!

Here is another article from a while back about the Obama DOD Catch and Release policy.

I just called.

I have a 19 year old grandson in Boot Camp who wants to be a Marine.

This "Catch & Release" & "Rules of Engagement" is a crying shame and is killing our wonderful troops and must be stopped!

Letter prepared again and updated. It seems that snail mail still has its place for me and makes me feel like I am doing something.

I sit here everyday wishing for a clear THING TO DO that will make a difference!

Hi friend, I know that snail mail makes a difference. In this fast world of email, when one takes the time to send a real letter the elected official knows there was more work behind it. They also know that you should expect to receive a reply from them!

Thanks for reminding me about the importance of sending letters through snail mail.

Thanks, but this is just the right method for me, and my small way to help add to these important messages.

You do so very much and have to do it the fast way to reach the most people...keep it up and know I appreciate your effort and meant NO criticism.

Saying Thank You, every day, would not be more heartfelt.

Good Morning! Thanks for your kind words, and also for sharing about your sending letters through regular mail. I recall the only time I ever receive replies from elected officials is when I had sent what I call a real letter. My Congressman, Bill Young, always replied. I am so glad you mentioned what you are doing because I am going to take the time today to send a “real letter” to Rep. Buck McKeon and see if I get a reply. :)
