WASHINGTON, Libya (AFP) — Senator John McCain called Sunday for urgent US medical aid to help thousands wounded in Libya, amid a growing humanitarian crisis as revolutionary forces battle the final vestiges of the Moamer Kadhafi regime.
"They've got thousands and thousands of wounded. They say that they've lost 25,000 people killed, 3,000 have been maimed, 60,000 injured. That's their government figures," McCain told CBS television's "Face the Nation" program.
"We should be helping them," said the influential US lawmaker, a Vietnam War aviator and prominent voice on US military matters who also was the Republican Party's losing 2008 presidential candidate.

Yeah, look at our foreign policy with Mexico. Look how much respect Mexico has for your foreign polices. It's worked our so well, they've trashed the U.S., caused epic fraud, crime, turned the borders into violent war zones, choked off our schools, hospitals, social services, health-care, destabilized the dollar, drove wages of entire industries into the toilet, and then their corrupt leaders down there dictate how we run our country, as your corrupt leaders fall all over themselves pandering to them.
Great foreign policy ya got there.
You can imagine how well it's working 10,000 mile away in places like Egypt, Iraq and Outer Mongolia.

I am not giving the open door to the Chinese, the elected leadership of this country have been making that choice for some time now.
There was a time when China, under its Communist rule, was closed to the rest of the world. They consumed few of the outside world’s resources, they eschewed the ownership of Buicks, and Mandarin was their only language (of the ruling class, anyway).
Now they have chosen to set up an industrial-military state, to forge ahead with technological advances, either by expropriating them from the gullible outsiders, or even through their own ingenuity, to become a capital-intensive banker to the world, and to take on some foreign adventures that creates a hegemony that has come to rival that of America itself, all related to our coming worldwide retreat and by the artificial handicaps we have placed upon ourselves.
China will not so much push for world dominance, as we simply have shrunk and retreated in the face of political correctness. It is being thrust upon them.
