NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Toby Keith says gay marriage doesn't bother him and trying to stop it wastes time and money.
The country superstar tells "CMT Insider" airing Saturday on CMT that he doesn't see the reason behind getting into people's personal lives. He says refusing a marriage license to people because they are gay won't stop them from living together, so it accomplishes nothing.
Keith also weighed in on the military's now-repealed "don't ask, don't tell" policy that banned gays serving openly in uniform. He says that anyone with the training and passion should have the right to defend the country, adding: "Somebody's sexual preference is, like, who cares?"

Toby who?
Highest paid country singer.
I’m guessing Toby has never served in the military.
We’ve become a nation of ignorant savages.
Doesn’t matter...everyone here probably found the threads where Toby is an Obama drooling fanboy and registered Dem. I just saw the source AP and they found the lone country star who loves fags.
>> “Somebody’s sexual preference is, like, who cares?”
Then why ask, Toby?
Something in the Columbia River (in Nashville) maybe?
I know the Country Hollywood may tend towards the superficial, but wishing upon America special recognition of a status of two guys or two gals (and maybe Great Danes, whips & chains, etc.) who shack up together, ought to be beyond any common sense pale. Toby Keith’s image had been far better than this — apple pie, the flag, and motherhood. Why’d he jump the shark?!? It’s America that makes a great subject for the country stars — not vice versa.
Because it’s like telling me my Cadillac is a chevy.
Yeah, tell me about it.
Toby Keith should know better. Too much Jagermeister???
Toby will be opening for the Dixie Chicks at the Tuscaloosa Holiday Inn on the 14th...
But a Chevy truck is a Country Cadillac....
Anyhow, it would be like telling you your Cadillac is a ho’.
Sometimes the liberals nail people who talk about “sexual preference” as being bigoted. Reason being, talk about sexual preference implies that homosexuality is a choice, and the current liberal view is that homosexuality is not a choice.
The current politically correct term is “sexual identity”, which describes homosexuality and many other bizarre ideas people have, without implying that someone is making a choice to do anything. Talk about sexual preference is so 1970s and 1980s.
“...he doesn’t see the reason behind getting into people’s personal lives.”
Gays are the individuals who with to publicize and politicize this issue concerning “personal lives”. They want all of us to walk in their Gay Parades and SUPPORT their abhorrent sexual perversity.
Toby Keith isn’t firing on all cylinders.
I don't either - but unfortunately, when you get gay marriage, you get political correctness, you get gay lobbies for special advantages, you get re-education, you get full-on attempts to change the culture, you get attacks on and prejudice against Christians, you get it on TV, and you get it in the schools. I'd say its the gay marriage advocates who are getting into MY personal life.
He is a big military supporter and has probably done more shows for the military here and over there than any other performer.....his military songs are all great...Every one knows the Angry American but also has a great one called American soldier...also The Taliban song.
It may be something in the Cumberland River which bisects the city of Nashville.
“...probably done more shows for the military here and over there than any other performer.....”
He can’t touch Bob Hope in terms of entertaining and visiting our troops at home and abroad.
I could care less how many money making patriotic songs he’s recorded. Does he donate all the proceeds to the health and welfare of our military personnel? If not, he’s just making a buck off of the patriotism of our troops and Americans. Heck, even the liberal Robin Williams visits our troops.
The homosexual controversy involving our military is a serious issue which will weaken the morale and effectiveness of our men and women in uniform.
