GOP House Oversight and Government Reform chair Rep. Darryl Issa has questions for Ford CEO Alan Mulally about the White House Ford fiasco.
In a new letter Mulally received today, Rep. Issa requests more information and notes that he is deeply concerned about undue political pressure exerted by the White House on public companies. Issa asks Mulally the same question I asked White House press flack Dan Pfeiffer yesterday (and which Pfeiffer refused to answer): Did any White House officials or any other current or former administration officials contact any Ford officials/employees to discuss the anti-bailout ad? He also asks whether any UAW employees, Obama for America staff, or DNC staff did likewise.
Heres the full, seven-page letter:
Glad we have some representatives in Washington confronting the White House bully problem.

No, it doesn’t closely resemble fascism at all . . .
It is fascism.
The Nachum List
It’s also a keyword and ping list here at FR, kept up by FR user Nachum.
Barry even lied about the nature of modern American ethics.
It’s not about right and wrong, it’s about what I can get away with, without professional sanction.
Fast & Furious is the one that SHOULD bring this regime down. Watching Closely.
I was thinking a while ago that Issa needed to step it up and expose them before they started their criminal pushback.
Good on Issa!
I just hope that he can quit “turning over rocks” and tie-up one of these investigations before November 2012.
Mulally for POTUS!
seriously.
Amen! What is worse than the administration bullying, nay, subverting free speech and freedom of association? These are fundamental founding principles as are those that the administration attempted to subvert with gun-walker. Many on this threads thus far seem to think that gun-walker is the only big issue that should be focused on by a select few individuals in congress actually doing their jobs. I say the more exposure items like this AND gun-walker get, the better. These items don’t have to be mutually exclusive - this all plays well together in the culture of corruption that pervades DC and many other local political arenas. That goes for numerous federal bureaus as well.
I think Issa is more than capable of exposing all of these items in union or in parallel.
LMAO....just too perfect. :)
Given the size of Issa'a investigative staff, I'm quite sure that they can easily deal with more than two or three issues at the same time.
I also wouldn't interpret any lulls in the public announcements as "not getting anywhere". A lot needs to be done behind the scenes before anything significant can come out in public.
