Sarah Palin told Fox News Greta Van Susteren this week that she was worried that the presidency could prove to be too shackling for her maverick style and somehow limit her.
Wednesday night, Jon Stewart took aim at her claims on "The Daily Show."
The biggest contemplation piece in your process is that becoming the president would diminish your power? Stewart asked. Youd be the f***ing president! You would be the commander-in-chief of historys greatest fighting force. What do you mean? What possibly do you mean? And dont misunderstand, I am not trying to talk you into running. It is just, by most peoples standards, the presidency is one of the higher level positions we have.
Stewart added: So heres the thing, you can have a colorful bus and drive to early primary states or you can go around telling people what you would do if you were president. But when you put those two together, theres really only two possibilities: you are either running for president of the United States or you are a crazy person.
FWIIW, martha gets this wrong like so many other libtard talking points.
Most POTUS’ have shared one comment after their tenures: they have been amazed at how LITTLE they could do, much less say. The fact barry the zero has been both too stupid to know what he can’t say and his agenda has been designed and propelled by a liberal congress and his handlers doesn’t change that.
Since they can do so little, why do they get blamed for so much?
The proof is in when the Dembos had a majority in both the House and the Senate TOTUS still couldn’t get anything done.
Jon Stewart is right. How can being the most powerful person on the planet be shackling? The President has the most power and opportunity to change the country and to some extent the world.
There are any number of aspects of the Presidency that could be shackling. For example, you couldn’t play golf any time you wanted.
Oh, wait ...
Leaving Stewart’s ranting and raving aside, I wonder what Sarah Palin is up to. Judging by her interview with Greta Van, it appears she isn’t going to run, yet she takes enough of an interest in the GOP presidential nomination that she makes a point of setting up the “crony capitalism” charge against Perry.
She ain’t crazy, she’s my shackling.
I wonder if Palin realizes -
We’ve moved on.
And he us correct in a sense that she’s either a stalker or she’s going to run.
OK - Flameproof suit is on now.
>>Since they can do so little, why do they get blamed for so much?<<
They can INFLUENCE a lot and they can STOP a lot. In this case, barry is the face and sock puppet for those who are making the real decisions, especially on what we can jokingly call “foreign policy.”
But that isn’t the same as being able to DO a lot or not being shackled on what can be expressed. Even barry’s puppeteers have learned to shut him up and make him stick to their TOTUS scripts.
Two, albeit large f-ups, out of all the crap they wanted to pass?
“And dont misunderstand, I am not trying to talk you into running.”

Too late Liebowitz.
You F’ed up.
Just because of your self-important, habitually unfunny drivel, she now actually WILL be running.
You. So. Important.
Good point, John.
Where was this rant when Obama said "That's above my pay grade", when he was running for President?
Stewart too dim to understand that being President forces you to act in certain ways you may not want to. Like being attentive to a-holes.
I’ve noticed that MOST of the pundits took her to mean that CANDIDATE was the *title* she didn’t want with handlers and others like donors and party hacks trying to shape her and define her and control her message.
You either want to serve for the nation or to serve for yourself. We only need the former. Get off the stage for the latter.
I’ve grown tired of the Sarah Palin circus. Either announce and throw your hat in the ring or get off the stage.
She knows whether she’s going to run or not. She’s not announcing one way or the other to either (1) not have to stand on stage and debate the other candidates (and basically, get a free pass for months while the other candidates bloody each other’s noses and face intense media (and voter) scrutiny or (2) keep herself in the news and continue to get attention/publicity and speaking engagements. She’s selling herself one way or another, if its as a declared candidate, then she loses her paid speaking engagements and tv appearances. If she’s not declared, she gets to go on TV or do paid speaking engagements and promote her “brand”.
I lost all respect for her when she did her little reality TV show. She’s no better than Kate Goslin. To say that the presidency might be too constraining for her??? Really? What office would she prefer? Supreme Leader? President for Life? Does she want dictatorial powers?
Sorry, but Sarah Palin is not cut out to be president. She quit the office of Governor after two years. Hell, Clinton was being impeached and he stood tall and stayed in office. She gave a BS reason for stepping down. Funny how she then turned around, got her tv gigs, wrote some books and made a fortune. And all her swooning, adoring fans fall all over themselves saying how brilliant, how wonderful she is.
The presidency would be too constraining for her. She would actually have to do something. She would have to be accountable for her comments, her actions and decisions. As talking head or reality TV star she can do and say whatever she wants and not have to answer for anything.
Frankly, I wish that she would just shut up and go away.
“Hell, Clinton was being impeached and he stood tall and stayed in office.”

Wow.
