I feel MUCH better, now! Thanks!

Aluminum is about 45-cents a pound right now. Save those cans and cash 'em in! Every little bit helps these days!

Yep, my father bought one of those at Harbor Freight about a month ago. Same unit. (ChiCom)

Is that some kind of high-tech replacement for a forehead?

An old bossman of mine use to have a similar can crusher mounted on his garage wall above the trash can that sat right next to his beer fridge. Each month he would recycle his collection of crushed aluminum and make enough money to buy an extra case of his favorite PBR.

Here’s a strange one... Here in Oregon, you can’t redeem crushed aluminum cans - only intact cans.

What did he do with the money he got for the other 3/4 of the cans he recycled?

Do you have a deposit on the cans?

Ran into that in MA years ago during a family get-together on Cape Cod. I had a habit of squeezing the sides in on empty cans and when we returned them the guy didn't want to accept mine for the deposit refund. He relented after I explained that I was visiting from Texas and we always crush the cans. :)

Yes. Five cent deposit on the can, but they don’t have to redeem them if they can’t read the barcode.

Thanks for the clarification. Now I’ll be more careful when I drink beer in a “deposit” state.

We have an oil filter crusher (60,000 lb PSI) at work. It crushes filters to about an inch tall. My guys tried aluminum cans in it and they came out about the thickness of a quarter.

Darn, I just sold some about two months ago (after Jul 4 th) and only got $.35 per pound. I had over 100 lbs I got from the parks after the holiday.
