The movie 'Dolphin Tale' was expected to finish first this weekend and finished third. I've heard two radio hosts today suggest this is backlash over Morgan Freeman's comments saying the Tea Party is out to "get the black guy."
Anyone out there changing their plans to see the movie?
I love how the media has clamped down on those facts getting released.
Being a certified BIGOT, I judge people sort of like you do. I will continue to re-watch many movies featuring idiots like Freeman, Glover, Baldwin, made BEFORE they let us know of their proud idiocy. However, I will watch NOTHING made by them since, nor will I support any product they hype, no organization they support.
I just cannot bring myself to abide STUPIDITY.
Freeman's entitled to his opinion; if black pols have lied to him (remember, Breitbart totally pantsed the Congressional Black Caucus in 2009 with their lies about Tea Partiers using racist epithets during protests) and he has believed it in reliance on his good opinion of them, then he's as much a victim as the Tea Party folks.
Too, his political paranoia isn't all that different from that of FReepers who, like me, suspect that Obama's real agenda is the creation of a metastable, civil-rights-abusive, permanent minoritarian regime whose continued incumbency would constitute a racist mega-street-crime against people not "of color", or "of PC", to extract value from them and degrade and abase them, using race-conscious, PC "affirmative everything"/"back of the bus" Jim Crow policies.
This is another one I would like to see but WILL PASS on. I won’t support people who won’t support my country and has the audacity to call ME a raciest just because I support the Tea Party. He has his ideas, I have mine and they don’t include supporting his lifestyle with my dollars. Someone should remind him of the fate of the Dixie Chicks. A great group ... now relegated to “past tense.”
Lots of people behind the lens are conservative in H'wood. It's a well-known political divide. The performing talent is overwhelmingly flaky-liberal, the gaffers and electricians and color timers reflect the wider society.
I won’t go see the racist.
“I’m not sure boycotting the film would help anything.”
If it destroys any money making opportunity he has in Hollywood, it’s worth a shot. For him to use his position as a celeb to fan the fires of racism is unacceptable. And just as he is entitled to his opinion, so are we. And if our boycotting means that he gets no more of our money to espouse his hateful views agains us, then so be it.
I think hes got some anger management issues.
Hey Freeman - Stop complainin’, stop grumblin’, stop cryin’.
No, we never planned to see it anyway.
The movie looked boring to me, but this is a second good reason to not go watch.
Partly it's lifestyle, partly politics, partly the kind of characters these people always play, namely their awful selves. Un .... believable.
The last movie I saw at a theater was the original JAWS. I can’t stand the noise.
Like all racists, he’s dead to me.
Nope. I saw Winter live and in person this summer at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium while on our annual family beach vacation. We know all about her plight. Don’t need to go see that jackass Freeman on the big screen.
Any Stdio that hires this closet racist should be boycotted—Any director who hires him should be told of his views and should face the wrath of the right. They want to play political cards—we so can the right wing. Send Morgan Freeman Tea Bags! Just wait til Obama Falls from grace.
No, was it any good?
>>No, was it any good? <<
Yes, very good. And it made one proud to be American.
It’s at the second run theaters. If you get a chance to see it, you won’t regret it.
