Sarah Palin Can Square the William F. Buckley and Rush Limbaugh Rules For a Republican Primary
Human Events ^ | Sunday September 25, 2011 | Tony Lee

Herman Cain win in the "Presidency 5" straw poll in Florida on Saturday has reset much of the narrative concerning the 2012 Republican presidential contest. Here are some questions being asked. First, was Cain's victory a reflection of the general dissatisfaction Republicans feel toward purported front-runners Mitt Romney and Rick Perry? Second, could another candidate enter the presidential contest? Third, will the Republican primary contest be a battle between the William F. Buckley rule versus the Rush Limbaugh rule?

If Republicans are indeed not enthused about Messrs. Perry and Romney, one candidate could be primed to enter the race who can square the Buckley rule of electing the most electable conservative with the Limbaugh rule of electing the most conservative person in the field.

That candidate is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Buckley said that Republicans should elect the most electable conservative in the field. Often, Republicans act as if Buckley said Republicans should elect the most electable "Republican" in the field and conflate "conservative" with "Republican."

[...]

One reason Palin may have won over independent voters in the past month is that she brought up the issue of crony capitalism in multiple speeches and television appearances before Obama was hit with a bevy of crony capitalism scandals ranging from Solyndra to LightSquared. Further, Palin has also reached out to union workers and disaffected Democrats in Facebook notes and speeches with her free market populism that pits her against big government and crony capitalism. This is the strategy Reagan used to build his enduring coalition, which Palin seems to be trying to cobble back together for the 21st century, uniting blue collar voters -- white and minority -- who identify with Main Street over Wall Street and Washington, D.C.

Be of good cheer :) Cain has a decent shot at being Gov Palin`s running mate.

The lure of a Palin thread to those afflicted with PDS is amazing.
The only remedy is avoidance of all things Palin and the only cure is a zot.

*SNICKER*....
maybe....not THAT drastic, as one freeper said,
Someone Peed in their Cornflakes for more than three years.
...they've come to like / expect the taste.

The Palin distractors, have a mental disorder similar to liberals.
"Tell a falsehood to conservative, they'd get mad;
tell the Truth to a Liberal (similarly :) they'd go insane.

The answer is that ANYONE can beat Obama this coming election.

But the real question is: "Who can beat Hillary?", or whoever the Dems find to replace Obama on the ballot.

There is no way Obama's ratings are going anywhere but downward, and there's no way the Dems are going to let him go unchallenged in the primary, if he refuses to step aside.

Sarah Palin already knows this. The RNC hasn't a clue.

Why am I posting this now? Because the article is about Sarah Palin’s suitability as President. She’s not in the race, but, like any human being, she has flaws. She’s made some very bad decisions that she will need to face up to if she does enter the race.

It’s simple enough to just not read the Palin threads. Give it a try.

I like Cain, but he doesn’t bring a single voter Palin doesn’t already have and he reinforces a negative—lack of long-term Washington or big-time government experience—that her weaker supporters already perceive she has.

Well, mr Jailed in LA, it isn't necessary to rebut such crap as spews forth from the PDS crowd. You seem to be one of them, so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head for all of you!

...But let me tell you where real hope lies. It’s not the hopey-changey stuff we heard about in 2008. Real hope comes from realizing how God has blessed our exceptional nation, and then doing something about it. We have been blessed with natural resources, hardworking entrepreneurs, and a Constitution that preserves the greatest form of government ever devised by man. If we develop those natural resources, allow our entrepreneurs to keep and invest more of what they earn, and adhere to the time-tested truths of our Constitution, we will prosper and endure. ...

Here you go...although I am surprised that you so rigorously defend palin without having checked out her record for yourself...

From an earlier post of mine to someone who also asked for proof...

"It is 100% accurate. There are hundreds of sources, including this site which links to Wasilla's budgets for the pertinent years...

http://www.cityofwasilla.com/index.aspx?page=136

If you prefer not to dig through years and years of spreadsheets then simply search - palin wasilla long term debt.

As for the real estate deal, it is common knowledge that palin screwed up the purchase of the land for the ice-rink then allocated city funds to build roads and services out to the site (which the town did not own). Her team failed to close the deal and a developer (Gary Lundgren) bought the parcel. Wasilla had to take him to court. They lost and then took the land anyway by exercising emminant domain. The extra costs in legal fees, penalty payments to the developer and on the land itself cost the tiny town over $2 million extra.

Again, search - wasilla ice rink palin imminent domain lundgren- and you will find plenty of sources. Some will be agenda-driven but others will simply stick to the facts."

So, you see, what I wrote is accurate...it's up to you to satisfy yourself but at least do a bit of homework before jumping on any bandwagon...or don't if you're afraid that you might not like what you find.

These same hypocrites who complain the loudest about realistic facts pointed out about their worshiped savior on these threads, are the most viscous and heartless posters on all of the Perry threads.

It resembles the double standard coming from Liberals.

To 97 - And the Irish have a saying - 'phony as rocking horse shite'. Has even one person attempted to refute your cogent analysis of Palin's deeds whilst mayor and gov? Or let me guess, rather than rebut they're labeling you a 'hater', 'with acute PDS', and a covert 'Romney troll'.
