Will Sarah Palin be the October surprise?
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 09/23/11 | Liz Marlantes

It’s been a good few weeks for Sarah Palin.

Now, a new national poll shows her trailing President Obama in a head-to-head matchup by just 5 points, 44 to 49 - this, after she had trailed him by more than 20 points for most of the year. That’s better than current GOP frontrunner Rick Perry, who trails the president 41 to 50 in the same poll.

According to the survey, Palin’s recent jump in support has come mostly from independents, who have lately been abandoning the president in droves. Still, she remains a controversial figure: 72 percent of Republicans and independents in the same survey also said they don’t actually think Palin should run.

And that remains the question: will she or won’t she? Palin recently told Fox News that she thinks there’s “still time” for candidates to get into the race, and that she’s “still considering” it. She repeatedly said she believed it would be an “unconventional” election year.

Speaking of oil......note that not one question concerning oil was brought up. I would like to hear one question asked of all candidates.....”In your opinion, why is it that our country will not produce its own oil?” and don’t let them go off subject.....get an answer from all of them.

I would vote for ELMER FUDD over OBAMA any day. Mitt wants this, his debating skills have been very good. Having said that, Rick Perry seems like a nice man, but just didn’t cut it last night. I hope Palin runs.

See that is the problem with Frum. Give me a thousand Christine O’Donnell’s, Sharron Angles, and Sarah Palin’s any day who really believe in limited government and the ideas and values upon which this country was founded and Frum can have those “high-brow” leaders who think growing a government which is proven its continued ability to fail even at basic tasks is a wise idea. I know if we had a congress full of ladies like these that we would not have a national deficit that is threatening to eclipse GDP. We wouldn’t have the constant threats to our liberties nor would we have to worry about being sold out to political or corporate interests.

So give me those who will speak and walk the truth and those like Frum can go play with themselves with those ‘high brow’ leaders like Pres Obama and Mitt Romney.

Two people who will never get my vote.

Nor, I noted, was America’s alleged trade policy.

Not one word.

She is the most articulate Conservative we have had for years.

Not since we had Newt Gingrich.

I will not accept a nominee that says “Conservatives have no heart.” I am very confident such a person will not be the nominee anyway. Conservative folks are the most generous folks it has been true for a long time. Conservative also believe in the rule of law and if they do not believe that they are not worthy of my support.

I’ve seen movie zombies that ran more smoothly than the leading declared candidates. Maybe if that weren’t the case, whether Governor Palin runs might be less of an issue.

I’m afraid Sarah will never be able to live up to the hype that has been built up over her. She still has that weird speech pattern that she can’t seem to break. When she is unscripted, she cannot get her ideas across well even if she is right on most things. She needs to stop messing around and get down into the mud. Head to head in these debates will show if she can cut it. Standing outside the fight, it’s always easy to believe in your own mind that you can take anyone. Let’s see what she’s got running for the top of the ticket this time.

He ain't conservative. The "You have no heart" is a liberal, emotional ploy. It won't fly on Main street.

People are out of work and can't feed their kids. They will not vote for someone that wants them to pay for educating illegals.
