Political logic and election law suggest that anyone hoping to make a serious run for the White House next year will need to be formally in the race by November.
Sarah Palin isn't so sure.
' The former Alaska governor appeared on Sean Hannityâs Fox News show on Tuesday, where she hinted ever so slightly that the current "unconventional" political landscape may allow for a later entry. (At the least, she has already proved that the current landscape has allowed would - be candidates to drag out their decisions much longer than one would expect.)
Here was her response to Hannity's first question about whether she was ready to jump in the race: "There is still time, Sean, and I think on both sides of the aisle youâre going to see people coming and going in this race. ... And I'm still one of those still considering the time factor."

Yeah, that's one thing about Palin, she hasn't faced any scrutiny.
Good one... LMAO
See post 75...
When making a point, Perry stumbles, hesitates, and suddenly gets that look he knows the train has left the station without him.
Thanks. Even Ronaldus Magnus made a big goof on that issue, and good for Palin for telling it like it is.
After the fiascos witnessed from these debates, would serve her well to just advoid them all. The moderators are the real dunces todate, Chris Wallace was really, really, worried about that “Border Along The Fence” in Texas
Fred’s entry was just a strawman gambit to protect his buddy McCain’s arse.
“Fred’s entry was just a strawman gambit to protect his buddy McCainâs arse.”
BINGO. But many-many people fell for it.
Palin may not have that intent, but by continuing this “maybe I will, maybe I won’t” tease, she is doing the same thing — helping Romney, by splitting the conservative vote and of course we’ll have the same result, as in2008: President Obama.
That is because the GOP wasn’t really concerned about winning.
did you see the word DEBATES in my statement?.. she won’t be given a free pass and handed the nomination ... she’s hiding from having to debate with all the others up there putting their dues in by campaigning and debating.. one of those up there tonight is going to be the nominee and they will have earned it.. she had her chance and now many of us who would have given her an equal look won’t consider her now
Yeah, you know Sarah just has not been scrutinized enough. /s PDS!
You're making a helluva name for yourself on this forum by stooping to such liberal tactics as that.
You know that Sarah Palin was speaking as the VP running mate of John McCain when she made those statements, and was essentially voicing HIS policy position -- just as every VP candidate before her has done.
Why don't you post Sarah's own post-McCain thoughts on illegal immigration, Clairity? Is it perhaps because they might not suit your anti-Palin, pro-Perry agenda?
If you're going to oppose Palin on this forum, at least do it honestly, and with half an ounce of integrity.
evidently you are another one who decided you didn’t want to see the word DEBATE in my post
Here you are again. Somehow I knew I’d find you here. You’re really earning that six figure income, aren’t you?
I'm reading your posts, and my first thought is: “What does it matter to you if and when she announces she's going to run for president?”
The anti-Palin crowd loves to post the latest poll supposedly showing that the majority of Republicans don't want her to run. OK, so what are you and other PDS sufferers so worried about? Your snarky posts suggest to me that you are very worried she's going to run, and that she'll be effective.
If she was a joke and had no chance, folks like you wouldn't be trying to trash her for not making an announcement. Your actions speak to your own fears and frustrations. If Palin truly were a joke and were ruining her chances; you would let her happily self destruct. :-)
There are 9 more debates scheduled for the GOP primaries. I figure she will be in soon and whether it's 9 or 8 or 7 she participates in, that is plenty for me.
I simply cannot believe the campaigns start so friggin' early. We have 4 months before the Iowa caucus. If she gets in soonish, I have absolutely no problem with her "delay".
I’m not going to be making the Perry or Palin camps happy tonight.
1. Perry was horrible...he looked confused and should just apologize and agree to build the fence and his tuition subsidy was wrong.
He is going to plummet big in the next week or two of polls.
2. Palin...She is miscalculating thinking she can come in extra late...Romney is going to solidify the “scared shitless of Obama 4 more” crowd...and once they commit - that is it.
She needs to get in very soon, actually a week from now would be PERFECT...as it would take advantage of Perry plummeting.
In Summary, Romney has a clear path to the WH now and I suspect he will be the big front runner again, next phase of polling.
The TEA party movement is way too big at this point and WILL NOT have anything to do with Romney. Palin's entry will be right on schedule as Perry simply imploded tonight. IMHO
She's made her decision. Probably made it over a year ago.
Dropping it on the poker table is what is in suspense here.
Meanwhile, did you catch that "both sides of the aisle" comment? Now that is pregnant with meaning.
I think she's waiting for Hillary to challenge Barky and the entire DemRat dog's-breakfast to dump him. You knew about Hillary's recent face-lift, right? One of our FReepers dropped that one just yesterday on the forum. She's running!
Source of the "not the sharpest knife in the drawer"/"dumbass" comments from Bush 43 and his Mephistophilis, Karl Rove.
And another GOP'er finds out what that fickle MSM buildup really adds up to.
‘Is she willing to throw away tens of millions away to serve her country?’
A run for the presidency, win or lose, always drives up the back end money. She will not continue to command top dollar on the circuit without a run this cycle. From a monetary standpoint, this is the time. From a political standpoint, also this is the time. The key is to enter at a point that will bring positive attention to herself.
I think she is just milking it too long. I think she does herself a dis service by not being in the debates.
