Kinda quiet in here tonight...wonder what I can get into?
Hmmm...let’s see, there’s ice in the freezer, tequila in the liqour cabinet, and Margarita mix in the cupboard. Yeah, that’ll get things started. Wonder if we have chips and salsa in the pantry...?

Best wishes and prayers delivered.
Wednesday evening she was the most alert I’ve seen her. She picked up and waved both hands...one had nothing on it, no brace and no tubes, and the other only her ET finger, glowing red. She really wanted to tell me something so we worked the charades bit, and I wasn’t doing very well. I got a word at a time and strung them together, all correct mind you, but something was missing and we moved to the pad and pen. “I don’t know what happened when I called ......................” None of my guesses, including 911, was correct. Maybe we will revisit that later.
She was trying and trying to get me to understand, waving her hands and really trying to talk. I finally got that she wanted markers...she smiled and nodded and spread her hands wide. Big markers? Yes!! Then she drew a rectangular box that we established was her desk. Then 20 questions started....with her waving fingers I got it! She wants her netbook, the one we got her during her first hospitalization in summer 2009. The pink one! She kept nodding vigously, and then worked on where it was. I did better on this one...top shelf of her desk, on the left side. I asked the nurse about her having it and he said he didn’t see why not. If she is able to handle it, maybe the communicaton problem will be much better.
Only stayed a short while Thursday evening. Her nurse said she had turned herself on her side, and seemed to be resting comfortably. She looked to be asleep, but I touched her arm to let her know I was there and she sorta opened her eyes.
Coree...if you are the one who brushed her hair, thank you. That has worried her. She hasn’t forgiven them for cutting it in 2009. I asked if she had gotten up, she nodded yes.
Then Sandy and Val, from NDC, arrived and I departed so they could visit. No matter how emotional she gets, visitors are a huge upper. Thanks to everyone who has visited.
I asked Scott how she had done and he said she had been up in a chair and wanted to be face on to the window. Then she levered herself into a position that was more comfortable. I think he was surprised at her determination. I asked about progress...he said just a bit.
Prayers, please continue that her lungs will start doing their job.
Thanks all.
